I know there are posts about this phone, but since it's been out for awhile now, I thought I'd get an update. Since I'm having issues with my 8390, I was thinking of getting this phone since it's free after rebate under AT&T. I was wondering maybe I can get some pros and cons with this phone. Thanks in advance! |

Well for one its going to be a lot bigger than your 8390. It also doesn't look as good but as far as the phone functions, I don't know.

I got the phone yesterday afternoon. My first impression is that it has great reception. It picks up service where I previously had none in many places. The screen is nice and bright, i've seen better screens but this is above average. The backlighting is cool and the phone feels great in my hand and while talking. The phone turns on and off quickly...overall I can't complain, I really like this phone. I tried the siemens ct56, sony ericsson t306, and this nokia 3595. I definitely reccomend this phone. It isn't the most high-tech, but its a solid color phone that gets the job done.

Very good phone. Actually has better reception than the 6310i which I used to think was about the best phone I ever used. Audio quality is louder and sounds much better than the 6200 which I have been playing around with as well.

I would be interested in hearing more about this phone from people who use them. I have a friend looking to upgrade from a 3390 that is just looking for a basic, simple phone.

I just switched from the 3395 to the 3595 and am very happy with it. The reception IS better than the 3395. The software, ringers, sound quality, screen clarity and brightness are all top notch. It's clearly superior to less expensive phones but worth the extra cost. The speaker does not crackle under high volume and the ringers can be made very loud. When activated the phone is bright enough to light up a dark room due to the bright display and side panel lights. 6-bar signal/power display vs 4-bar. The addition of SEND and END buttons extends the functionality of the phone making menu navigation easier. The END key also functions as a way to return you to the main screen without backing up via menu. The organizer gives you a months view with only three keystrokes. You don't have to reset the time and date when you pull the battery. Still can't have the alarm repeat everyday tho...needs turning on daily. It lacks a basic suite of simple ring tones, but the "Low" ringer has an echo effect that has grown on me so I'm using that one for now. For people who want polyphonic/"light-up" flashing phones, this one will work right out of the box for you. Comes with wallpapers, tones and options for making folders for more you download and save. The 3395 annoyed because it didn't have enough functionality, and I don't need a camera or radio. The 3595 give great functionality as a fully equipped phone without the extras. A good solid color screen phone you won't regret buying.

Thanks for the input. If I get this phone, I hope that it won't act like the phone I have 5 - 6 months later....

I've had the 3595 for 2 days. Also, demoed A56 Siemens. The Siemens seemed too small. Earpiece volume was MUCH lower than Nokia and Nokia ringtone volume will wake the dead if you want. Decent display; excellent voice quality, but that's mostly the GSM I suspect. It seems to be a good phone for someone who isn't fixated on micro small size, and wants a comfortable phone for talking on (me) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Update 6/19/03 After more usage: Excellent RF / recep. Makes calls OK with even just 1 bar showing Stationary anyway. Excellent voice quality transmit and more than enough earpiece volume. This is my first color screen phone, and it's not overly impressive. ALthough certainly better than something like a Moto T720, I would just as soon prefer a gray scale screen. The keypad, although easy to use, is just weird to look at.......an adjustment I guess. Also, and this may beminor but it's irritating......the keypad "squeaks" My scroll buttons mostly, make a squeaking type noise when depressed. For a GSM only, dua band phone, I think it's very good.

Sounds like this is a pretty nice handset. My wife wants to replace her 3390 with the 3595. My question is this. Will the faceplate on the TDMA version of this phone (3560) work on the 3595? It appears very similar, but has a more traditional keypad look. Thx. |
