Help! Calls go directly to Voicemail...

My phone is Nokia 6010 recently purchased. Is there someone who can just simply answer this question: All I want to do is have my phone ring instead of going directly into voice mail...HOW???

Jay, the 6010 is a GSM phone, I know 2 people that have it


lorgood57, if you have not changed any settings and are in an area that has good signal, call the customer service and check if somehow they have the number of rings/duration of ringing set too low. Or if the phone is set to forward all calls to VM all times and not just when you don't answer it.

If its a GSM phone then the voicemail settings should be in the phone itself. It wouldn't hurt to have CS reinitialize the mailbox though. Also check to see if the phone isn't in silent mode where it won't ring.

Wow, what a timely question. My wife's a my phone are doing this, too. We both have Moto v180's. In the past week, both our phones have been sending calls directly to voicemail. The phones are not on silent. I assumed it might be a function of being in an area of poor reception, but it is happening everywhere!

I did not realize that CS could reinitialize the mailboxes. We will give that a try.

My dad called me today saying his voice mail was broke. He said it keeps saying "press 1 to log in". "1" in his voicemail rewinds the message, so it would constantly say press 1, then rewind and say it again. Apparently some automated system called his cell and was prompting for a password and that's the message he heard. I called his voicemail and I deleted that trash message, then he didn't have any more problems.
