i wouldnt think so...............the way that the SIM cards work is Boost SIMs will work in Nextel phones but the hybrid phones are branded as Sprint not Nextel from what i would guess.......and even then basically what would prolli happen is that Walkie Talkie would work but everything else wouldnt because the phone will look for Sprint to get service and service isn't active with them..........it's active with Boost............... it is a good question........and it raises one of my own..........when will Boost start offering hybrids??? |

from what i was told the sim cards in boost are not interchangeable nextel. have i tested this , no. but my dependable techs at my stores say no. I dont see why it wouldnt work if the sim card was active though. Something i would like to test, but dont have the money or time

Remember Boost is a seperate company from Nextel and just resell service of Nextel in a pre-paid form under the name of Boost. Therefore, Nextel does not want you to say hey I need a new phone why not run out and get a boost phone and pop in my SIM and away I go. However, Nextel phones are already purchased soem how (either through a contract deal or direct at a HIGH price) therefore it will accept the SIM card with no problem. As for the hybird phones remember it is like to cellphones pasted together in a little unit. The Nextel side (SIM based) is on iDen ONLY, whereas the Sprint side (non-SIM) is CDMA only. Therefore, it works off 2 different networks with the SIM card working on iDen only. |
