Okay so I bought this unlocked slvr l7 phone from ebay.
Once I got it I took my mother's nextel sim card to test it out
and I could swear that it worked. Though after I started using t-mobiles prepaid
sim cards it stopped funtioning. I can't get it to connect to a network with my mothers sim card.

I have started reading some post, and to what I understand, nextel uses a different
type of technology and not gsm. So It could not have been possible for it to have worked with my phone. But I remember that it did.

What can I do?
Could anyone kindly assist me with this problem?

The SLVR is a GSM model. It is not compatible with the iDEN network. It may have said something like "Emergency calls Only" or something like that.

Well yes that's what it reads right now. Though like I said I could swear
that it worked with my mother's nextel sim card, because I made a call to my
home.

I don't know maybe my memory is wrong

Anyways thank you for your reply, I 've asked this question in two other forums
and did'nt get any replies. So thank you again.

To back up what Jay said, the fact that AT&T, T-Mobile, and Nextel use SIM cards is the only similarity between them. Nextel uses a completely different network technology completely incompatible with AT&T and T-Mobile.
