Default Nextel Customer Service is the pits!!!!

My title says it all. Recently I was given a Nextel for work and decided to deactivate my personal phone as I could not see paying for a phone while I have one for free. I have been a Nextel subscriber for over 10 years. I bought 2 phones in June of 2005, to upgrade to a better phone (from Nextel) for $200. I was then told I had to pay $50 each to switch over. I was not happy, but I paid their BS fee. When I called in Feb to cancel the phone I was told because I bought these phones, (to the tune of $300) my contract was automatically extended 2 years. That's how they treat their loyal customers. I explained to the sales rep I have been a customer 10 years and stuck with them while their service sucked, and it's not much better now. I know where every dead spot in my area is. That is sad a customer knows better than the company. Personally I will never deal with Nextel again. When my "contract" is up, I will be switching to Verizon. I may have to sign for 2 years, but their calls can't drop as much a NexTime (or Nex Try) whichever you perfer. Just my opinion.......

All carriers will extend your contract when you get new phones, especially at the discount rate.

If you do some math, it may be cheaper to pay the ETF and switch vs waiting for 2 more years.
