Fix for Droid Camera - Works

There has been a lot of concern from people about the Droid camera not focusing quickly and picture quality. You can follow the thread below regarding a fix. A very simple fix that seems to good to be true, but seems to work. I tried it on mine and it now focuses quicly and takes pictures and scans bar codes easily.

Quite frankly if you read the above post I tend to think a silent update was pushed out to get the camera working better, but seems to work great now.

Uh-oh...Is this a warning sign for the phone or just a minor glitch?

I don't expect a phone to be perfect, but this is why I want to see how things go with this phone before considering it for my next phone. (Bad Moto Q memories...)

Minor glitch. Turns out it was not a secret update or anything like that. Instead there is a code error in the software for the camera that was discovered that conflicts with the date. Basically it corrected itself on the 17th, the camera will work fine for the next 24 1/2 days before it reverts back to the focusing problem. Then 24 1/2 days after that it will work fine again.

Not to worry though, there is an over the air update coming out early in December to correct this and some other minor issues. This update will happen before the camera looses it ability to focus again.

BTW agree with you on the MotoQ. I too hated that thing, and took it back before I had it 30 days. So far the Droid has been great, other than this camera thing. Quite frankly I could care less about a camera in a cell phone anyway. In the last 3 years I have taken maybe 5 pictures using a cell phone.
