Default W385 Eating Batteries

Hi all.

I have a W385 phone (Verizon) that seems to be eating batteries. I got it in Feb. At first my battery life was good - 3 to 4 days. It steadily declined until I was barely getting one day out of a full charge. I got a new battery (motorola) and I'm now having the same problem. I'm down to about 2 days out of a charge even though I started with 3-4 days with the same usage pattern. A friend of mine told me that they are having the same problem with their Motorola phone. Is this a common Motorola problem?

My phone is part of a company contract with Verizon. We have no tech support at all and the only answer our company has to any problem is to replace the phone completely and charge our small group over $500 for it. So any advice on fixes or info on hidden motorola warranties would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Debbie

Hello fellow East Valley resident!

Do you only charge your battery when it is nearly dead or do you charge it constantly when at your desk (or when driving or at home, etc.)? A battery should last 12-18 months without much in the way of a noticeable decline in charge life.

I think both practices can shorten battery life.

Thanks for the quick response!

I read the article you suggested and decided to try 'resetting' the phone battery life cycle. The only problem may be that I smash the dang phone because it's been alerting me about its low battery for the past 16 hours! When it finally dies, I'll give it a full charge and see if that solves the problem.

Thanks again,

Deb
