| Hello All, Anyone experienced the following? My old Moto V3 has just gone mad........ On power-up I get the "Enter Unlock Code" screen as usual - except that it now also contains a padlock symbol. With the padlock present, the only characters I've been able to enter is a sequence of *s. This is not very helpful when my unlock code is four numerics. If I fiddle about with the "-" and "*" buttons, I can get into the "Enter Security Code" screen but this also has a padlock symbol present which effectively prevents me from entering the security code numerics. With either of the above present, the V3 also beeps away to itself every few seconds even when I've entered nothing from the keypad. The whole scenario began for no apparent reason, ie yesterday it was working fine and today I'm locked out with the above symptoms. The only other thing I can get is the Boot Loader screen. Any ideas how to resolve this? |

If I'd done this and not noticed the eventual low battery warning, would the phone have cleanly shut itself down or could it have got itself into the "padlocked" mess? It was noticeable that when I first switched it on and got the padlock symbol, the battery indicator was showing a low state of charge. The battery has since been fully charged up but the padlock symbol still remains. I've also tried leaving the battery out of the phone overnight, but this doesn't resolve the problem either. Any thoughts would be appreciated........ although presumably I've ultimately got to dig into the data area of the V3 and reset something. The question is what? Davros28 | |
