I call the voice mailbox number, but I get a recording saying "I'm sorry, but the person you have called has a voice mailbox that has not been set up yet. Goodbye." How do I set up the voice mailbox? I just got this phone today, and I cannot for the love of me figure it out. Thank you!

Well I don't know if all phones are the same for setting up the voicemail, but....

I dialed *86 (while on Verizon's network) and it said something like we are now going to set up your voicemail including a password.....etc. etc.

So you should try to dial *86 and see what happens. If that doesn't work, then hopefully someone else that has a V265 can help....or you can always call your store that you bought your phone from. Hopefully the *86 will work for you.

Hi jamie WELCOME. This is from the Verizon website:

"Press *86, SEND, and then follow the prompts. Some locations may require you to press # immediately when greeting begins to set up your voice mail.".

I have setup mine by calling my no. from a landline and doing "#" when the greeting starts.

Are you calling your phone number, or calling someone elses phone?

If you are calling your phone, then I would suggest trying to dial your number with the area code....555-555-1234 and see if that lets you set up your voice mail.

Same thing happened to me. - I called customer service for advice. As I recall the solution was so simple it made me feel dumb.

If I remember correctly, you need to dial *86 SEND (as you have already done), and when the recording starts press #

Try that and see if it forwards you to the setup prompts.
