I dont know about most of you out there, but definately I'll be getting one of these (see below)!!!! 32MB of memory, USB port, TFT Touchscreen, 65k colors, Build-in 1.3 MP camera with video and flash (play Windows Media Player file), Bluetooth, Oh, and it's tri-band. The actual name is MPx. The 300 was dropped awhile ago. Available in 2nd half of 2004.

I hope it is a triband with 850. Otherwise, it will be a 'handicapped' phone.

My understanding is that there would be 800 support for a North American launch.

It was actually introduced at 3GSM. It's the first item on the page.

I saw it at CTIA, looked okay, hopefully the production model will be a little more sturdy. It has a landscape and a portrait display depending on which way you fold it, that's an interesting design.

I too thought that was the most interesting feature of it. I don't like the way the keyboard is shaped though, the way it almost arches seems impractical.

Blackberry is developing software for Windows Mobile and Palm devices that will enable them to be used with a Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES). That will give these device push email just like a blackberry, however in my discusions with Blackberry at CTIA, it will require an always on connection from the Palm or Balckberry (basically a dormant connection most of the time, except when send and receive receive emails) This will type of connection will lower your expected battery life by about 10% on most networks. It's also going to mean that you will need an Unlimited Data plan or suffer the consequences of airtime overage charges. Every so often we get a Balckberry customer that doesn't have the correct billing code on their account...it's actually pretty funny because we have to go back and credit five to six thousand dollars worth of airtime overages on their account. The alternative to using a BES server with a Window's Mobile device is going to be to use Exchange 2003, Exchange 2003 already has wireless capabilities built in that will give you push email to wireless devices, instead of needing an always on data connection like Blackberry the exchange server will send an sms message to the phone which will then wake up the phone and your phone will connect back to exchange to retrieve the new messages. This feature is already built into exchange, the only reason you don't see it being pushed with Verizon's current phone line up is that the Samsung i600 and i700 are not capable of doing this until their new OS upgrades are made available, which I expect to happen in June.

"And yes.. it's GSM phone" Darn...nothing against GSM, I have just always managed to work for CDMA carriers..so I guess I will not be betting this model. |

I'd be interested if it had the Palm OS instead of MS. Then I'd consider bidding farewell to my Clie.

Not me I've done the Palm thing before..I think I would rather have a memory lock up with Microsoft versus a "Fatal Exception" with Palm...At least when your Window's Smartphone or Phone Edition locks up you don't have a scary warning like that...you just can't use it. Fatal Exception just sounds to deadly.
