V3m sync shows connected...WMP does not?

Hi All!!!
After downloading all files on the V3m connect thread here is where I am now.
I plug in phone and it says charging.....GREAT!!!!!! Then it goes to the verizon home screen with the battery icon blinking....Fantastic!!! Then on the phone I click...menu/get tunes and tones/sync music.......and Superwow!!!!!....it says Connected!!!!!Then I go to my WMP11(or vcast music)(it doesn't matter) and click on sync music ...and....Bummer!! it says my device is not connected!!!!(even though the sync screen on the phone says I am. I;ve tried adding a song to the sync list first....after...with WMP running.,.,or not.....same results.
I went to device mgr....clicked on Motorola USB Hub...ran diagnostics....all says ok!!
I have a Compaq laptop running Windows Vista Home Basic(32bit) and the included WMP11. My phone is a verizon V3m with them as service provider. I also have Vcast music mgr.
Motorola tells me there drivers download both 32bit and 64bit compatable versions of drivers that are vista compatable.
