On my razor V3, as soon as I disconnect the charger, the phone goes dead.

I have to reset it by pushing the end button, with charger turned back on.

I assume this battery is toast.

Where can they be purchased the cheapest?

I've bought the batteries off ebay before with no problems. But I think you have to watch carefully that they are offering the OEM for your phone. There is the chance you could damage your phone if you try to use an off market brand.
