| AS WITH ANY HACK, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. PERHAPS TRY IT A FEW TIMES, WAIT A BIT AND CHECK YOUR BILL TO MAKE SURE U ARENT GETTING CHARGED, AND PROCEED ACCRODINGLY. NOBODY HERE TAKES ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU GET CAUGHT. JUST LIKE IF YOU MESS UP YOUR PHONE BY HACKING IT. I HAVE USED THESE SERVICES WITH NO PROBLEMS, JUST USE IT WISELY, DO NOT ABUSE THE SERVICE. This is not a new find, but there isnt any info here on this. For those who do not know, you can use your v3c/m to connect to the net for "free". When I say free, it means it still uses airtime, in the form of minutes. No data charges, just minutes. So during the day, use it wisely...but nights and weekends, have fun. Now this isnt meant to be a replacement for your ISP, just a way to access the web from your phone without having to sign up for any data plans. The first one is free wap. It means u can access the net from your phone's web browser. You can use it with 1x or evdo enabled. Since hacktherazr.com has a nice guide already, I am just going to link you to their guide. http://www.hacktherazr.com/guide.free.wap.html Now, this the process sets google.com as a proxy. It doesnt allow u to search by URL, but its handy. However, it can be tedious searching for things this way. What I recommend is signing up with their site as well, and using their Free Wap proxy. It has all sorts of links nicely organized, such as E-mail retrieval (aol, g-mail, yahoo, hotmail), AIM/MSN/YIM progs that dont use text msg fees, Movies, Sports Scores, Weather, etc. Here is a link to getting their proxy in as a websession on your phone. I find it EXTREMELY handy. http://www.hacktherazr.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1296 Now the other thing I mentioned is free DUN (dial up networking). It uses your phone as a modem, so anytime you have service, you could hook a laptop up to your phone, and dial out just like a voice call. HOWEVER, you MUST disable EVDO, since your service provider will monitor the bandwidth and could catch you. They dont monitor the 1x network, or if they do, not very closely. This is why I said this isnt to replace your ISP. Again, hacktherazr.com has a very nice guide to set this up. I dont know how well it works with the Alltel network, but I would assume the same way. (when u see references such as, xxx-xxx-xxxx@vzw3g.com, I would just substitute it as xxx-xxx-xxxx@alltel.net). You will understand where to do this once you start going thru the process here. Disable EVDO first -> http://www.hacktherazr.com/guide.disable.evdo.html Set up your DUN next -> http://www.hacktherazr.com/guide.razr.net.html

i also posted this on their forums Ok, I set this all up and i'm getting a Authentication failed. Here is what i have Name: Go Homepage: Proxy:homepage User ID: praetorian Passowrd: ****** (all lowercase) Gateway IP 1: 000.000.000 Gateway 1: wap.hacktherazr.com Service Type 1: HTTP Port 1: 9201 LXL Port 1: 9201 Gateway IP 2: 000.000.000 Gateway 2: hackterazr.net Service Type 2: HTTP Port2: 9201 LXL PORT 2: 9201 There is no cache option.... i listed everything i have in there. I did however in the browser go to advanced/ encryption/ authentication caching and i turned it off. it was on. Is that correct? So what am i doing wrong... and its always going to google site as the default homepage. Thanks Guys Update: I rebooted my phone, now when i go to acces web it goes straight to authentication failed with a white background. P.S. I have alltel service with the V3m phone i'm on EV not x1 does that matter |

Yea, I guess they were having a problem with the "wap.hacktherazr.com" Here is mine: Name: Hack The Razr Homepage: http://homepage User ID: RAZRv3mM (case sensitive) Passowrd: ******* (all lowercase - case sensitive) Gateway IP 1: 000.000.000 Gateway 1: hacktherazr.net Service Type 1: HTTP Port 1: 9201 LXL Port 1: 9201 Gateway IP 2: 000.000.000 Gateway 2: (blank) Service Type 2: HTTP Port2: 9201 LXL PORT 2: 9201 Try giving that a go and then restarting. See if that works for ya. Just keep in mind, your login info IS case sensitive.

Yea, dont worry about homepage.com, just make sure the values are correct, and also the login info.

Hmmm, and when u go into websessions, you have that one selected as your active websession? If so, with the correct info in there, try restarting the phone, and trying again. If that doesnt work, maybe try 1x? I have success with both 1x and evdo...

yea still gives me the cannot resolve hostname like right away. I will have to find the post on how to change from EV to x1 I did fail to mention, when i set it up like the site says, with google. i do get to use goodle search and get results. but when it leaves googles site it gets an error like HTTP Error 400 Bad Request. thats when i searched google for gmail. and went to the gmail link within google. most other sites i go to from the option go to url, takes me directly back to google.

Try hitting the menu button and selecting home, and see if it refreshes it properly. I was going to say that it might not work with your phone, but if the google wap works, everything should. Hopefully someone over on htr will be able to diagnose this better. |

Yea its strange i can actually go to the google setup, and search for sites through google and hit a few of them, but when i go to the hacktherazr setup it gives me the same error. You wouldnt happend to know where i can find a list of sites that are good to view with a phone do you? And i'm still trying to figure out how to get the instant messenger to work. Theres that website http://moba.e-messenger.net but when i go to that url it sends me back to the google site. |

does the DUN thing work for the USCC V3m as well at the cost of minutes or will I have to get the unltd. easyedge for data use? also, would it be mynumber@mms.uscc.net or mynumber@uscc.net or what? |

But that is a great question what USCC's @xxx.xxx is. I guess what you could do is, load up seem 01d1, record 1, bytes 7a, and take a look at what is being shown.... min shows xxxxxxxxxx@vzw3g.com, so whatever yours is, that SHOULD be the template for you. I will try and see if i can find any more info on that.

It doesnt work that way... You cant just type in URL's and go. Websites designed for mobile phones are completely different from those designed for regular browsers. The best option we have is to use proxys to access pages. I highly recommend you use the Hack The Razr proxy. Java phones can use Opera mini web browser which is effective, but we cannot get that on our Brew phones. |

sorry, our web server is currently having issues sending emails from the server out to members. we are working to resolve this issue, but i have manually activated your account. the sites sign up rules have already been changed not to require activation (until we get the issue resolved) so if you sign up for an account you still wont get an email, but your account will work. however i checked your account and your access appears to have already been activated... i may have done it the other day when i was manually activating people who probably hadnt received the email due to the issues again, we are trying the best we can to resolve this and appreciate your patience and understanding. ~styol |
