When first installed, it worked for maybe a couple weeks before the problem started.

Remember I said it worked fine initially, then the phone/audio part of the MPT stopped appearing so I couldn't listen to any clips I wanted to make. I unstalled, then reinstalled. Now, the new install of MPT won't open up. The initial phone menu that appears has this error message that says "MPT is unavailable at the moment..please wait" and just before that it asks "do you want to wait until MPT is available?" I always say "yes" but after hours and hours of waiting, it never opens. This is my problem....it won't allow me to do anything. If I click update, the MPT still says its unavailable.

| OK, this is driving me nuts. I myself have a V3 and did all the seem edits that can be done with no problems. My friend has a v325i so I figured I could hook him up with free ring tones seeing as Verizon blocks file transfers and such. I corrected his seem (6a) to enable file transfers / Hooked up to MPT and searched for the modem driver to use. I found from various sites that I need the v323M in order for MPT to work for the phone. My problem lies here, I don't seem to have that for an option??? I have all the updates installed and nothing? Is there an answer out there? Thanks in advance... |

| I've run accrost that before with a friends phone that uses a sim card. I've never gotten it working correct due to not knowing about sim cards but I had it to where it wouldn't play anything due to the new uploaded .mp3, all I did to correct it was use P2kCommander to find where the songs uploaded and remove them. Hope that helps. |

| OK, with out me going into great detail because I'm just not the best teacher and don't have a lot of time at the moment. Also I'm unsure if I can post a link in here with out getting into trouble, so..... You can find P2kCommander in you type in "Hack the razr" in Google. You will see the site listed first, go there and look in there download section and you will find it. Keep in mind that you will need PST running in the backround for it to work..... Also if it dosn't connect to your phone the first time simply unplug your phone and plug it back in with the programs running and it should find your phone. If this makes no sence to you Hack The Razr's sits has great tuitorals to walk you through. Good Luck.... |

| I have a verizon v325. Motorola Phone Tools is up and running and all is good. It recognizes my phone. However, it won't let me use the multi-media. It says "This function is unavailable because another function or data connection is open, or the phone is still initializing." This isn't still initializing and I don't have anything else running or plugged it. Please help! |

| I myself am looking into this but have no answer at this time. As I have posted above, Verizon blocks file transfers and you will need to correct the seem in order to do this. I myself have had no luck as of yet because I can't find the proper driver needed for the v323M in order for MPT to work for the phone. Everything else works but the multi-media. |

This works ok as long as I set the phone to "V323M", but the "File Transfer Studio" just locks up whenever I try to browse the files on the phone. Seems like I can send stuff to the phone no problem, but getting files off the phone to my PC locks up MPT. I have the latest version of MPT, btw. V325 and V323 are only compatible with the usbser.sys from Windows XP. Which is fine, except that (in most circumstances) they share a USB PID with the V710 and V265 -- phones which are only compatible with the usbser.sys from Windows 2000. (sucks, huh?) Here's what I would do: 0) Unplug your phone. 1) Download and run the DriverTool: http://www.bvrp.com/Customers/Motorola/DriverTool.zip 2) The original copies of the INF files will be placed in your NT user profile directory, along with the driver log which will tell you the file names of the OEM*.INF precopied versions that are in C:\WINNT or WINDOWS\INF. 3) Open the driver log (C:\Documents and Settings\your user\Motorola_Driver_Log.txt) and find the three OEM*.INF and *.PNF files that were copied to C:\WINDOWS\INF (this is denoted at the end of the log) and then head to C:\WINDOWS\INF and delete them. 4) Similarly, delete any INF/PNF backups that might exist in your NT user profile directory (starting with 10xxxxxxx.INF/PNF). 5) Then open USBMOT2000.INF. Find the line for USB PID 0x22B8 / 0x2A22, and remove it. 6) Go into USBMOT2000XP.INF, and add a few lines for 0x2A22. Like this: ; V325 / V323 product ID %USBMOTMODEM% = USBMOTOXP, USB\VID_22B8&PID_2A22 7) Plug in your phone. When it asks for drivers, point it at your profile directory. 8) After everything is finished, Device Manager should report that Motorola USB Modem is now using "usbsermptxp.sys", and you should be all set. Now, remember: if you have a V710, V265, A840, etc. also, they're not going to work any more! If you want them to start working again, run DriverTool again.

| Hi, I have SLVR L7c and I installed Motorola Phone Tools. I have updated the program by using the Motorola Live Update. But I'm still having this problem: Now, on the panel left of the cell phone image on the computer There are the tools. But there is no Multimedia/Music/Picture transfer tool which is the reason i bought the CD. I'm guessing it's because the L7c doesn't have that capability but I'm not sure. This question was posted before but was unanswered. It would be great if you guys could answer it for me. Thanks. |

| I have a v325i and i'm using verizon. I had trouble getting the computer to recognize my phone but I downloaded a driver tool and it took care of that problem. But I still can't download my pictures off of my phone and upload ringtones. I understand there's some fixes for some phones, but I can't find any help for a v325i. I tried the instructions Goodtimes posted, no luck. Maybe i'm doing something wrong? If so, could someone send me the doctored files. Thanks. |

| hi i tried to find answers to my questions in the forum, but i didnt find it, so i will ask here: I bought the Motorola Phone Tools 4.0 disc with the USB thing, i installed the program, but it didn't completely install, so i tried to unistall it, but i couldn't find the uninstall icon in the add/remove program, so i just deleted the files manually (move them in the recycle bin). Then, i tried to reinstall the program, but it doesn't work: when the install wizard shield says it's preparing the setup (the 1st window that appears basically), the installation won't continue afterwards, aka, no new windows that appears. I search everywhere on google to find an answer, but couldn't. Hopefully, you guys will solve my question. Thx. |

| I have a question about the music and ringtones XD okay, so i can crop music easily and transfer easily. However, it seems every time I transfer the new file to my phone, the sound quality goes down drastically. Is there a way I can avoid this problem?? I noticed that the frequency goes from about 44k to 22k....does this make a difference? |

| I've had MPT for awhile now and upgraded it to 4.56 today, but I can't ever get it to work with my data cable. When I connect the phone, it seems to recognize it and brings up a picture of an L2 on my computer screen/shows that it's initializing, but then it always says "communication port unavailable" in a little icon that's on the computer representation of the phone display. All the menu options in MPT remain grayed out. The phone itself shows that it's charging. Does anyone know what is wrong? I've never been able to use MPT with the data cable as a result.
