V3m Music Sync Problem

I set up the music sync software that I got with the VCast Music Essential Kit. I installed the drivers and WMP10.

After I choose a playlist to sync to my phone in WMP10, my USB is connected also but it does not recognize the device (phone/V3m) I get connection failure on the phones screen saying to check the connection between the PC and phone.

I know the USB cable is good because it works fine with MPT.

Any ideas?

This has been covered many times. If you cant find it by simply searching for the MTPfix.exe file.

I've been working on this problem for 2 months and I finally found a fix that worked for me. I am running XP Media Center Edition and the first problem was getting the Phone Tools to recognize my phone. I finally came across the answer on the Smith Micro website. The caller ID is enabled in XP MCE and it tries to hog the comm ports. Easy fix once you know whats going on. Just open up the Media Center go to settings and turn off the caller ID.
OK now the phone tools work but the sync to Media Player would not happen. I tried everything on this web site and others to make this work.
Then today I was upgrading to IE 7 and I thought what the heck give Media Player 11 a try.
What a suprise when I plugged my phone in and everything worked!!!!
I even got an extra USB driver that allows me to copy wma files directly to the phone.
It looks like I can finally retire my old MP3 player.....

Hope this works for all the other people out there having problems..

Thanks very much for your info. My brother is running xp mce 2005 and he has tonnnns of comm errors. I knowhe doesnt use caller id, but i had no idea it had it. I will have him disable it and hopefully he can do his work instead of having to use my comp each time! Good work.
