Default If I flash to altel will my phone # still work
I have flashed before but only with verizon firmware and I want to go to altel firmware .04 but want to know if my phone # will still work

It should still work, as your phone's ESN is registered to your provider. I'm assuming you have Verizon as your provider. You may have to do a *228 after flashing. It certainly won't hurt.

no! after you flash your phone NEVER dial *228 again

I was not aware of that. How do you update the PRL after flashing then? Do you have to manually edit it? I didn't think they could tell what version fo the software you were running.

you have to know a friend that still has verizon firmware and have them manually give you the prl *228 will break/brick your phone

Yea, u definitely dont wanna do a *228. You can usually find the up to date prl files online so u can update it manually. If u do *228 you will wreck all your data services like mms, ems, etc.
