Question Re: Motorola Phone Tools

Hi

I have the same problems with my new verizon v3m. I have switched mymodel to v3mm as suggested and the multimedia icon shows up. But when I click on it and try to access files on the phone I get an error message that says processing failed.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Eric

Start MPT and then try this:

On the phone displayed by MPT:
1.) Click on Menu->Setup->General Setup->Communication
the "Device Configuration Wizard" will launch OR "change modem" option will display.
2.) You will then be prompted to select device a device. Choose "Motorola USB Modem" the click "next"
3.) The Detect Driver screen will appear
4.) Check the "Do not automatically detect the driver. Select from list" box, then click "next".
5.) On the next screen, Choose Motorola CDMA on the left and on the right, choose v3mm for Device model, click "next", the click "finish"
6.) You should now see multimedia studio as an option.

Let us know if that helps.

I am also assuming that you have the V3m phone by VZW.

This thread is outdated as u can see the last posts before yours were in January and earlier.

Try here and see if it solves your problem. (mainly what is on the first two pages)

Thanks for your response - I am wondering whether I need to do all that is listed on that thread since I can already access the multimedia studio.

If I need to do that I will, but if I can skip a couple of steps since that option already exists in MPT 4.36 that would be easier.

Thanks,

Eric

The ONE you MUST do is the one that enables usb data transfer in MPT. It is the first seem edit listed (seem 2742). The reason we do the second one as well is so it will AUTO-DETECT your phone as a v3mm so u dont have to do it manually. So go ahead and try the first one, and see if it solves your problems.

Hi everyone.. I just joined this forum lastnight.
I have a Sprint V3m with a 2 gig card. I have only had the phone for a week
I was reading about the BitPim program and d/led it and it's installed.
I have the drivers all installed correctly, Ay least I am pretty sure they are.. my devise manager shows the phone as a Motorola Modem in the Modem section

I read thru the "Install & Setting Up BitPim with V3m.doc" but when I try to get the info from my phone, I get this...

BitPim version: 1.0.1-official
An unexpected exception has occurred.
Please see the help for details on what to do.

There is more to the list, but I only copied the begining..

I went to the help section but could not figure it out..

Do I need to "Seem" (as I have seen it refered to) my Sprint V3m to get this to work?
