I just went to verizonwireless.com to see if the new RAZR V3m is available. I was comparing the Razr V3c and the V3m. I could have sworn that the new RAZR V3m is an mp3 player because it has removable memory. It listed as a non-mp3 player. So I'm confused because I would like to upgrade my V3c for the V3m! So the question is does it play mp3's or not?! |

I knew I wasn't bugging out. I saw the specs at phonescoop.com and it read it's a mp3 player. |

I just ordered my online yesterday with the New every 2. On the details of the order it states that it comes with the headset adapter. I thought you need it to listen to the mp3 player? I will let you know as soon as I receive mine.

How did you order it? It's not on the Verizon website yet. The V3c is still there.

Most VCast music capable phones only support WMA, not MP3.

They must have removed it because I did see the phone on Verizon web two days ago. It supposed to be available now.

If you have a Mac you are out of luck, unless you are willing to do converting and some other things to get music onto your flash card. It is not as simple as it is with Windows.

its the exact same as the v3c except it has a transflash card slot and Vcast music, meaning no it doesnt play .mp3s it instead plays .wma's theres really no difference in size/quality. you can get the music essentials kit for cheap and use the included usb cable to transfer all your current mp3's to the phones memory (card) for free and it doesnt matter how you obtained the music. no subscription to vcast is needed and no song purchases from vzw are needed. just get the essentials kit, its a small price to pay to have your razr with music on it. |

how did you get the razr v3m to sync with windows media player 10? i'm assuming there is more to it than just plugging it in, opening WMP10, picking the music i want to sync, and then click sync on the phone? WMP10 doesn't even recognize that there is a phone connected to the computer. I am running windows xp home, if that helps...thanks guys...

Well, that's good to know, because I had no intentions of dowloading music from the Vcast music. I want to use my own anyway.

If you listen to music through headphones, is it mono or stereo? I heard it's mono.

do you have the v3m drivers? i just got off the phone with verizon and they said that the only way that i could get the driver for my v3m is to purchase the Music Essentials Kit from verizon for $30. The thing is i don't want to pay $30 just for the driver b/c i already have the cable and windows media player 10 is free (both of which come with the essentials kit). if anyone has the v3m driver please let me know. that would make things a lot easier! lol

I just took out my TF card, and put my music in WMA format and put it in the "My Music" folder, the player works just fine.

i tried those drivers and i couldn't get them to install... i don't know if you guys ran into this, but when i plug in my v3m into the xp computer it pops up and says Motorola v3c... if it is the v3m phone why does it do that? and if it is recognizing it as a v3c should i just install those drivers?

I get the same problem even with the drivers do you have an sd card installed wick? cause mine won't connect to my computer and i'm thinking that it may see it as just a device but it has no storage so it's like a hard drive with no space? Well whatever i paid 50 bucks extra and i want to see it work

no i don't have a sd or the tf card, but i can get one of those to work when i purchase one, but, like you said, if i can't sync it without the verizon software that kinda stinks, i think i'm going to just break-down and get the software because I can't get anything to work... I also just spent like 50 min on the phone with motorola, figuring that they would have the right v3m driver, but they said that verizon has a contract with them that the Motorola Phone tools won't sync anything but the contacts and calendar and that if i wanted to do multimedia i would have to contact verizon... let me know if you get anything to work. oh and yeah, i just had ACL surgury else i wouldn't have this much time on my hands lol i'm just sitting around lol

Yeah i already bought the kit and it's really nothing special it comes with some kind of VCast software that will change the filenames for you and the drivers but i think that's about it. I'm going to buy an SD card and see if i can get it to work then. $40 bucks on amazon for one gb i think it's a pretty good deal. |
