That is not the case. You need to do a small seem edit to make that happen. Otherwise you have that ugly orange banner.

Hello everyone! I am new to this forum, but have gotten some great information on the workings of the Razr v3m. I have successfully uploaded songs using a 1gb TransFlash card and a card reader. All my songs play perfectly with one exception: Any songs that I have downloaded using Napster don't play. I get the message "Protected Content - Aquiring License" - which it never does. I am using the MP3 Audio Converter from the Windows Media Bonus Pack - but still nothing. Has anyone had this same problem? Is there a work-around? I mean, I payed for the songs via Napster - I should be able to play them wherever the hell I want - right? Any help would be appreciated.... |

It might be a wma that you cannot burn to a CD nor transfer to the phone. I have the same wma's from iMesh. I could not burn them to a CD. I can only play them on iMesh and Windows Media.

The seem edit for the outside LCD to be the same as the inside pic is: Seem 2742, Record 1, Bytes (h) 0 Offset 94 Bit 7 - VZW V3C .04 outside LCD - Check to be ORANGE, Uncheck for Graphic This get s rid of the ugly orange banner on the outside LCD and changes the outside LCD pic. |

hey can someone tell me how long your v3m battery normally lasts? i just bought mine 2 days ago, and i have to charge it every single day. it's ridiculous! i'm down to one bar after 20 hours. i didn't really talk much on it, and i haven't played V CAST on it. i didn't even touch the keys much. is there something wrong with it?

PGA13: First I converted everything using the MP3 audio converter. But now that you mention it - these songs (downloaded from Napster) were already in Windows Media Audio File format. When it went to convert them (which was probably wrong to do) I got an error saying that they required a license. Figuring that they were in WMA format already - I transferred them to the TF card. I have a USB 12 in 1 card reader. Used Windows Explorer to simply transfer the files from my hard drive to the My_Music folder on the TF card. All the other songs play (MP3 converted to WMA) - but the WMA straight from Napster don't. I'm going to go back to Napster and see if maybe I can download the songs in MP3 format - maybe it's as simple as having the wrong file type selected. Will let you know what happens. |

I think it has to do with where they are being saved on the TF card. When I did it with a card reader it did not work either. I'm guessing you dont have a mini USB to connect it? If you do you can just sync them from WMP and not deal with all the other nonsense.

Other then that the ouside screen shows the gay looking time and date when the phone is closed and Verizon when your using the phone. This actually pisses me off. When your on the phone and have it held up to your ear everyone can see the nicely lit Verizon banner on the outside screen. It's a nice marketing tool for them, free advertisement, seriously WTF!

![]() Since this phone is small they should have included an adapter so I could use the headset of my choice. I even bought a Radioshack adapter to convert the smaller headset jack to the larger one however the sound is mono. So when I returned my phone for the silver edition I told a white lie saying my phone never came with the usb to small headset adapter. Now I have two of them so I am in the process of dissecting the adapter and performing some multimeter tests. I will soon have the adapter rewired with the proper size headset jack in stereo. I am taking pics throught the process so don't worry I'll post a guide. Then I can workout with the headset I want in stereo while I give Moto/Verizon the finger

The outside graphic when the phone is open is easy to change too. Just take 96x80 pic and name it verizon.gif and then overite the one on the phone using P2KCommander.

ok, go to: http://www.mac.com/1/idiskutility_download.html get idisk and then go to my public folder jpga13 or jpga13@mac.com The files are on there or will be shortly. Only one large one is left and it's outside the folder. The one has spanish instructions but no worry. Just put the patch inside the folder you can see on the instruction and run it. |

I'm doing my edits on a Windows machine but happen to be a .Mac guy with many more macs than pc's. It was the easiest way to make them available. The iDisk utility is for windows. Haven't you watched the commercials we can play with windows people!

Hey everyone, first of all thanks to everyone trying to help the other poor verizon victims. Okay ive been reading this whole topic, but im still having problems when i try to sync up to my pc. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. Here's what i did: 1 System restore to before i messed with the drivers 2 with phone powerd off i install the drivers, it then shows i have a motorola usb modem 3 install mtp patch fix thingy 4 turn on phone 5 sync the phone with mp10 already set to sync tab, then the found new hardware wizard pops up... Here's where i get lost: i get a connect failure on my phone and i was wondering if i have to go to the found new hardware window that popped up and install again, cause when i try that i get an error that says this: Cannont Install new hardware MTP Device the required section was not found in the INF ....Hopefully that was understandable and someone can help me out |

yeah im trying to sync to wmp10 and i get a connect failure everytime, and yeah i am trying to sync through my phone EDIT: i dont know if im being clear enough, let me try again. After i install the patch i turn my phone back on and i get it recognized as a usb modem, which i assume is a good thing, after that i try to sync through my phone and at that point is when i get a found new hardware wizard window again. While this window pops up my phone is still trying to sync and it gets a connect failure EDIT PART DEUX: Okay i noticed wmp is not even detecting my phone after i turn it back on, i wonder if thats part of the problem Last edited by kotorhero; 07-03-2006 at 3:20 AM. |

Everything needs to get loaded first. DO you have the MOTO2000 Driver? Make sure the phone is on and keep it open after you get them to connect. Well I am off to bed. Let me know how it works and I will check tomorrow. I made a new account on my computer and did a new install on that user that worked fine.

hey, "kotorhero" I've found, even if you got the drivers in right, sometimes the first try the phone doesn't get the sync, but try it again (from the phone) & it gets it. The other thing I suggest to make sure the phone drivers are in, check & install the "Motorolla software update" That really get's all the drivers together. *! very much ! It's available from I think a link in this thread. (& it is free ware if I remember correctly, And I've found that my phone, when I switched USB ports the drivers got -re detected, but becuase I had it working on 1 port, it found the MPT device & motorolla software check & motorolla sync & all those wierd drivers. I can be aim'd @ mahootsaber |

ok, I can also be PM'd or E-mailed. i've found a boat load of stuff that's helped me get stuff working on this phone in this guide "http://mark.cdmaforums.com/" I don't know how kosher cross linking is, but this is a nice concise package of information & I think you'll all like it if you really want to get the most out of this phone. |
