I was finally able to seem edit my phone, but the original posted way didn't work for me as p2kseem would not say phone was connected. I had to uninstall MPT and download MSU and use that to detect the ESN, when that was still up I ran p2kseem and it connected!! WOOHOO and now I have all the features that I want and can transfer all I want and bye bye Verizon on that money!! HEHE

In one of the forums, someone asked if the V3m would work with the listed seem edits and the modorator said NO!! Did he test them on the V3m? I do not know and it was not mentioned anywhere that he did.

Still looking, though.
I went to monkeybongo and downloaded the program, then it asks to check out one of three other offers to get the registration code, and when I downloaded a free game from one of the three offers I never got the activation code... what gives???

Unhappy Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I just replaced my old Verizon razr v3c with a Verizon v3m. The interface is quite a bit different, (especially the SOUNDS part) and I am having trouble finding a way to add my own ringtone.

I don't want to make a lot of changes, etc to the phone. I really only want to have one ringtone that is special to me, on the new phone.

I thought makeyourownringtone.com would be the simple answer, but emailing the ringtone to my phone didn't work: phonenumber@vzwpix.com--never got it.

I do not mind paying, either Verizon, or buying MPT or the micro sd card for the phone, as long as I can just send this one piece of music and set it as my ringtone. Isn't there a fairly simple way, w/o tons of edits that would void the phone waranty or whatever??

PLEASE, can someone help me????

Thanks so much!!!!

I have a v3m phone. I'd like to load some songs to use as ringtones, but I can't get the computer to sync with my phone. I managed to get it to recognize the phone, finally, but can't find a way to load music. I don't really want to spend money on software to do it, because I've had the phone for about a year and a half and expect to upgrade in the next six months or so. I read somewhere that you can load music without special software if you have Windows Media Player. Does anyone know how this works, since WMP isn't recognizing that I have a device attached to my computer right now.

$40 bucks on amazon for one gb i think it's a pretty good deal.
The kit is a waste of money - all you are really buying is a $20.00 USB cable and some worthless software. I do recommend a microSD card (up to 1 GB is all it can handle).
You can easily hack your V3m to unlock a lot of functionality such as the ability to create your own ringtones. Even better, there is a piece of software you can download called Motorola Phone Tools (MPT) Motorola Phones Tools - Motorola US

The V3m *IS* a pretty good mp3 player and an even better one once you unlock the restrictions that Verizon puts on it.
UNLOCK AT YOUR OWN RISK though.
Hack the Razr!

Default Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions ) post your questions here

Hey guys--

I got a RAZR v3a (through Alltel) about half a week ago. Like most people, I wanted to be able to add my custom ringtones, which Alltel has apparently blocked to help sell their $3 ringtones. So I browsed on the net a little bit and found out about hacking your phone (I use p2k Commander). I took a 30-second clip of an MP3 I wanted to use as my ringtone, lowered it to 22kHz and 32kBps, and put it on my phone. It worked fine; I could add it as my ringtone. When I tried to add another tone, however, I got an error about not having enough memory on my phone (which I know isn't right, I can send a full-length 320kBps MP3 over and still have room to spare). So I figured maybe the ringtones were on their own separate part of the phone's memory, and deleted the preset ones to make more room. I still got the error. So here I am, with only one ringtone and none of the presets. My questions are thus:

1) How can I get more than one ringtone on to my phone without getting an error about the free space?

2) Does anybody know where I can get the preset ringtones for the v3a and re-add them to my phone so Alltel won't know that I hacked it, should I ever need anything? Hacktherazr has backups for the v3c and v3m, but the ringtones don't match up to what I recall my phone having.

Any help is greatly appreciated, and I can try to provide more information (I'm not too savvy when it comes to cell phones) if needed.

I have a razr V3m that I just had updated yesterday, and now I can't use mobile17 files and recordings as ringtones. Is there anything I can do to have free ringtones? I really don't want to pay $2.99 for a 30 second sound clip.

so I'm new to this, but I just have a questions. I got the new Verizon Motorola V3m and the software is different from my old phone. I would like to make my own ringtone and it appears that verizon has locked that feature. I don't mind paying the verizon price for a tone except that I can't figure out how to make the one that I want and buy that. I guess I'm trying to say I want a ringtone I can't find in the store is there a way to create it. I can't do mobile17.com like I have in the past and I can't create my own file and send it via text because it will save into my sounds and I can't make a ringtone from something that is saved in my sounds. Any suggestions on resources. I'm not technically savvy please make this in the most layman's terms possible.

I do know that if you have a friend with the same phone, they should be able to transfer them to you. My son took some of the originals from my V3A for his phone. I need to know how to make the ring tones I add to my V3A usable on my phone. They will play.but that is it

I have every version of this phone. (Yes I am nuts) The V3m as locked down by Verizon will play wma files as well as mp3 files as well as voice files. You MAY use Motorola Phone tools CD (available from Motorola) to move the files from a pc or laptop to the phone via a USB -> mini USB cable.

You may also use phone tools to move your contact list. On Verizon you may not move ringtones but you may use the phone as a USB modem teathered to your computer. Neat huh?

If you dont want to get the cd, just move the songs to the extenal card and it will work just fine.
