Also, RedDawn -- instead of posting info to the forums on the wiki, insert it directly into the wiki page. For instance, with the MPT setup instructions, click on the Motorola Phone Tools wiki page link, and if you are logged in, at the bottom of the page you will see an "Edit" button. This will allow you to go in and edit the page, and insert whatever additional info you want. This way, you can add to what is already there, change the stuff that sucks (and my text right now for that section really sucks), and improve it. Don't worry about messing up the page, cause it can always be rolled back to a previous version, or corrected. That is the beauty of a wiki.

Howdy Guys! That Wiki is lookin GREAT. . .someday soon I will be able to help! But for now. . . I can connect my phone via TWO ways. . .either through the USB or through my internal BLUETOOTH. My computer appears to to have all the correct drivers, it shows the device as a modem. . . I can get the SYNC screen up and my computer will show the phone as it own icon under my computer when I do this. I haven't tried to actually sync anything to it. I installed BitPim, and it will show my Motorola modem. It will show both connections COMM40 (the bluetooth connection) and then the Motorola Modem (comm4) The problem is is will not connect to either one. The later, Motorola USB Modem, shows it is unavailble. (This port is active but not available for use.) Please help. . . THANKS Also the Motorola Phone Tools. . . is there a place to d/l it? or is this something you HAVE to buy? Do I need it? THANKS AGAIN !! |

"The later, Motorola USB Modem, shows it is unavailble. (This port is active but not available for use.)" That means that another program is using the Motoroal USB Modem driver. If you are not running any programs that are accessing the phone, then you will have to reboot your system. If you are running a program that is accessing the phone, you will have to exit that program in order to use BitPim.

I added an Image Gallery for wiki images. So you can post screen shots or other help images to the gallery, and when you view that image in the gallery, at the bottom it will give you a link that you can paste into a wiki page to display the image. This way, you don't have to host the help images on another site for inclusion in the wiki page. |

I have had this problem also, with the Motorola USB modem getting stuck, as far as BitPim is concerned, and not allowing access to BitPim. This seems to be very computer dependent to me. One computer I use allows BitPim to access every time, whereas another seems to always have the driver stuck. At the moment, I can't say how to fix it, I just know that it happens.

YEAH, figured it out !!! OK so I did some searching on verizonwireless.com and I found this article. http://dts.vzw.com/how_to_use/v3m_sync_music_fix.html Not alot of explanation of why there is a problem . . . The file link on that page leads to no where, but it should lead to http://dts.vzw.com/pdf/Sync_Music_Fix.exe Ran that fix, followed the instructiosn frmo Verizon. and YEAH BABY. got BitPim running !!!! Thanks everyone, hope those links help! |

Hmmm....interesting. I guess there must be some problem with the driver being stuck. Hopefully it doesn't also "fix" your ability to upload ring tones, etc.

Kinda of reminds me of Windows. Apply a fix, to fix a fix, that was a fix for a problem. Then it snowballs. But hopefully not for our problems. |

Click on V3C Info - located in the Navigation Panel on the right from the new displayed screen Click on 'Seem Edit Process' You will be directed to a web page for the instructions on how to enter the Seem= 2742 Record= 0001 Bytes= 0000 The page also comes with illustrations, which I found helpful. And it takes you through a semi-detail how-to.

THe v3m doesn't show the time and date on either of the LCDs during a call... Is there anyway to hack it so that it will display it? Perhaps disabling the outer graphic so that it'll always display the time/date even with the phone is filpped open?

I tried this "Offset 6A Bit 0 - Bluetooth Or USB file transfer in MPT - check to enable" but now my V3M no longer show "Multimedia Studio" via MPT. The "Multimedia Studio" has disappeared! I only uncheck "Bit 0", "Save to phone" and "Restart phone" and now I don't see "Multimedia Studio" via MPT. Below is the detail of my Seem edit, where x is checked 0 not checked Offset: 006a x Bit 0 - Bluetooth Or USB file transfer in MPT and E815 BT OBEX - on x Bit 1 0 Bit 2 0 Bit 3 - Enables 1XRTT Setting and Service Type (QNC, Packet, Auto) - off 0 Bit 4 0 Bit 5 0 Bit 6 0 Bit 7 |

Does anyone else here have to install the drivers multiple times? It seems like I have to re-do them when i plug my phone in too often. |

So I was poking through the file system and found the "DEMO" games - PacMan and Tetris. I found PacMan here: /brew/mod/22151/ and Tetris here: /brew/mod/22335/ I know you can get games through VCast, but are there other games around we can put into our V3m's? And if so, where do they go? Also, about themes. There have been a few comments about them in this thread, but nothing definitive. Are there themes out there that can be used the the V3m and if so, again, where do they go? p.s. Thanks for the motov3m.com - nice, very nice. |
