Verizon has 3 RAZR models, Alltel only has one. Verizon uses their own user interface, Alltel uses the Motorola interface. Most people prefer the Alltel branded RAZR when compared the the Verizon equivalent. Verizon will have the RAZR V3m which adds memory card and music store option. Under the hood, the V3c (pink or regular) are identical regardless of which carrier you use. The differences are in what each carrier takes away functionality wise. The RF, call quality, etc. will be the same. |

The newest Alltel RAZR firmware version (04.06.00R) should correct the Bluetooth OBEX issue, from what I have heard.

The Verizon RAZR, at least the V3c with the Verizon UI on it is very slow to react to you in the menu, etc. I don't like it personally.

Ya the GUI on the V3m isn't very slow in my experiences. When I tell it to play a song it takes like 3-5secs to get it to start playing but other then that its not bad. I can't compare the V3c to the V3m since I have never played with a V3c.

You can look at it like this, you can get one phone with alltel with a supposedly better interface and no restrictions (which is awsome, dont get me wrong) buuuut, you could get Two slightly lesser phones...

if you have the v3m and want to upload music, movies, pics, calender, sms etc... you can do all these things with motorola phone tools 4. there is a good tutorial for how to do this on this page of this wireless advisor thread: "http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/verizon-wireless-users/54510-razr-v3m-13.html" |

also, i have to say that verizon's razr is fundamentally flawed in that you are severely limited in functionality. short of using motorola phone tools, you cant do jack with a verizon phone unless you want to pay for every stupid thing that you do. alltel on the other hand at least lets you do some customizing with ringtones and such. my only complaint is that the v3m was a good idea (what with the media aspect and all), but verizon totally screwed up when they developed their business model for all of their media-based phones. |

Theres a thread in the Verizon forum all about the V3M and what capabilities we have been able to unlock. Using programs like P2K, BitPim and MPT we've been able to upload all sorts of stuff to the phone. Check it out.
