ok i spoke to the person i bought the phone from and he explained that some ppl have this problem and its because the phone is set to automatic band and it wasnt detecting the 850 gsm. he then told me how to switch it here are the instructions, just incase you do a master reset you might have to use these to get it back on ur network

1. phone keep on standing by
2.click the call button(on the top and right)
3.click the function button( on the bottom and left)
4.click the setup button
5.click on the network setup menu
6.click the function button (on the bottom and left)
7.click the seach setup menu
8. you will find out the band dropbox, and you can choose the 850/1900

Hi Guys, I got my Motorola A1200 shipped from China, it's still unlocked with no SIM card on it, I'm trying to hook it up to my Windows vista laptop, I installed the Motorola Phone Tools 4.5.1c, however my computer doesn't detect the phone either before I install the software and after I installed the software, any help please?

Hello all,

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I generally love this phone, except for its issues with the voicemail indicator. (I have Cingular). After I check VM the "new message" indicator does not go away, the exclamation point still flashes, and I receive a blank text message. I assume this message is the VM's attempt to clear the indicator, but obviously it isn't working. Does anyone have any pointers on how to fix this?

Have you tried to connect it to your computer, you probably can do on computer what you cannot do from the phone by accessing to its content via USB.

I am with Cingular, I cannot get internet, nor can I get my email, where can I get the settings. When I went to Cingular, they had no idea what to tell me except that they don't sell this phone! They were no help at all.

So has anyone figured out how to send pictures messages yet? I have gotten it to send text or sms messages, but havent gotten it to send picture messages. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
