Try this also.

After inputting my settings you should also goto:

Main Menu > Browser (if you get an error message just hit OK) > menu > Setup > Profiles > Delete ALL old oversea profiles! > menu > New >

Profile name : MEdia Net

Homepage : http://device.home

Network link : select newly created profile from drop down list.

SAVE!

This together with all other posted settings has to work. I had just set up another with the same settings no trouble. All I can assume if this still does not work is that this is only good for the East coast Cingular area. Because all of my friends 1200's I set up here work fine.

ALSO, make sure when all these settings are in that all are set as default and saved. The case and exact spelling will make all the difference.

Good Luck.

Hi there, now that I have my internet and messaging hooked up. Do you know of any reasons as to why the MING will not bond with a bluetooth device? I ask because I have the Pioneer 980 bt head unit in my car which has bluetooth integrated. I had no problems hooking my old Blackberry 7100t to it, but for some reason it will not find or bond with the Ming. Any help from you or anyone else is greatly appreciated!

same exact problem here... it will say network problem and say.. http://3db.three.com.hk/ so i took off the .hk since i thought that meant hong kong since the phone was released over there and it took me to their website, but there is not an option for the U.S. which is bs.

cingular told me that since it wasnt a cingular phone there isnt a way to get it to connect through them since the setup is different or something. ugh, this sucks. they said they dont even have the internet updates for it either. why cant we get anything good within a reasonable amount of time. china and those areas have had this phone for what almost a year?! get on it already.

Enter all the settings I have previously listed and make sure when you done that you save! Also it is very important to all go back at least 2 maybe 3 locations in the different setup screens and set the new profiles as DEFAULT. What is happening is that you are being sent to the homepage set at the time of opening the browser. After it gives you the error hit OK and check menu with the browser window open and check setup.

Make sure you delete all overseas info and profile and the phone has no chose to go to your new settings. If all is entered correctly it will bring you to the cingular Media.net homepage. Good Luck...

All I can think is that you need to format the card. It is an option in one of the screens. I think the file manager window. Select the card and format. I have a 2G myself with no trouble.

I wish I could help, but I think I just inserted mine (1 gig) and it was working.

When you go to "File Manager" is there a pull down menu just under the icons that says "Phone"? When you touch that a menu appears and scrolling down, I have a "Transflash" option that appears. This should be your card that was inserted.

Sorry I can't be of more help than this...

Thanks Phone Lover. I did go into the file manager and there is the drop down menu, however it doesn't display transflash. I also checked into the properties and nothing there.

Also, the way to format the card once you can see it in file manager is:

File manager > Tap and hold transflash until menu appears > Format.

Sorry, but Cingular will not let you buy a game from them because they do not support your phone. When you try to download the game the software detects it is not the cell you selected from the list and causes a error. No worries though, just go here and download them for free to your computer. Then transfer the .jar files over to your cell via USB and load up. Enjoy.

If no games are left available check out Ebay. I bought a CD for the 1200 from there.

Hello All,

Im in HK now and im thinking about buying the a1200, its available for 2200HK$ which does not seem to be too expensive.

The thing that i want to know is that if this phone can act as a English - Chinese translator, ie if i write a chinese character into the phone's screen using the handwriting recognition, is there a program to translate this character into english? This would be a very useful feature for anyone travelling in China or HK.

If this is not possible on this phone , does anyone know of a phone that is?

Thanks

I've owned my Ming for about 3 months now and was clueless to this issue. After being on a call with my cousin in the room he informed me that he heard the entire conversation. Not just because the volume was maxed but after further investigation I discovered the speaker on the clear glass cover portion on the phone transmits in both directions. From the inside towards your ear, and from outside the glass in the opposite direction. How many others have heard my conversations? Has anyone else noticed this? I lowered the volume to its lowest possible setting and someone next to me can still hear the caller's voice!!!! Am I going crazy here? For now I guess I'll stick a piece of tape over it to muffle it, aside from that any other suggestions for a fix?????

you shouldnt need anything for the text to work. Sounds like you might have put a profile in your sms config. Erase it.

Which program did you use to convert the video? The 1200 is very specific to the parameters at which the Real player will allow play. You can use the converter program which should have come with the cell. This should make it specific to be compatible. If you use other software you will need to make sure all the video conversion settings (and audio) are set exactly or close to the same output .rm files of the supplied software. Some of the most important restraints are:

Video : 320X240 - 12 fps - 256 kbps
Music : 44 kbps

Let me know. And trust me, don't give up. It took me a while after if figured it out I had 100's of songs and also "The Departed" and 2 other movies on my 2GB card at DVD quality. Just had to find the right setting combination. Good Luck.
