I've been reading elsewhere about changing GAGIN to look through different directories. Does anyone know what the nvm directory contains? Also I'd like to know more about some of the files in the brew directory. I can open *.mif files with the BREW mif editor and am able to change simple things like the licence types. I would imaging that the *.sig file is the signature file and the *.bar or *.mod files have game content. Anyone willing to post some content to test if games can be "traded?" GAGIN info How cool are these turbos? Thanks |

I don't have inside info but lets take a look at something... Java runtime files have the extension .JAR Brew runtime files have the extension .BAR hmm. not very different. Does anyone know if Brew apps are compiled any different from J2ME apps? I want J2ME to run on the T720C to open the doors. Specifically WebViewer. I understand we would probably have to create SIG files, MIF files, and get the app listed in GIN main screen. Any thoughts? |

Yes, explored most of the directories that exist. /NVM /VOICEDB /BREW /USER I'm having problems trying to view the root directory of the phone. The first letter of every file is getting chopped off. Trying to debug it but not having a lot of luck. |

I don't have any means of getting games from other phones. And I don't want to get games for my phone unless I've paid for them so the developer can get their dues nor do I want to jeopordize my account with VZW. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with paying for ringtones because I don't think copyright laws apply since the midi file is not a copy of a song, but actually another person's rendition of a song. Just phone apps I want to be legit with. And I am not here to lecture anyone. I don't care if other people copy files on their phone, its their business. Just not something I would do. At the same time I have only seen two apps worth paying for: Fox Sports Mobile (which I did purchase for football when it finally came available) and WebViewer which is not available for Brew, only J2ME. |

I suppose it wouldn't be such a big deal if Verizon didn't require a proprietary operating system with signature files that cost the developers an arm and a leg to aquire. Back to the subject, I was reading on the Yahoo post that most likely the nvm is short for non-volitile memory... What do you think? |

In the voiceDB/All/Memos have you been able to dl the qcp files? obviously that is where the voice reordings go, would be helpful to be able to access them.

Haven't tried to get those yet. I don't have any memo's on my phone right now so I have no qcp files, just the NextMemo.int file.

Well I managed to download the qcp files (voicenote) but they sound kind of "spotty" when I play them with Qualcomm's pure voice player. Also BTW all the voice notes I THOUGHT I deleted were still there and was able to copy them using GAGIN with BALpatch8 and putting VoiceDB/All/Memos/Mem00007.qcp when it askes you to "Specify Device File to Copy. Duhh I guess... now you can use your T720 to copy phone conversations and export them to your PC. |
