Default T Mobile phones from Europe? will they work here?

Hi All,
I currently have a v60. Honestly, i don't like the phone at all. Appearance is great, but the volume is abysmally low and menus are horrible. The interface is very clunky.

The point is that I'd like to order one of the cool phones I see on the T Mobile Germany website. Is this possible by simply switching the chip that came with my phone?

thanks for any help,
Zach

You will need to:

1) make sure it is capable of 1900 MHz GSM service. Europe's GSM standards are 900/1800 MHz. North America's standards are 1900MHz (and soon 850MHz).

2) make sure it is unlocked, i.e., make sure it will accept any carrier's SIM card.
