I work at a Tmobile dealer and today I had a customer that had a V66 with the status light blinking green. I have one too and I've read in the manual that the feature is turned off. Does anyone know a way to access the status light on the menu or anything ?

Not sure if its differnt from the v60, go into the menu then go into sttings to initial set up, there should be an on /off option the phone usually comes with it off to conserve battery, go to motorolas website and download inst. book if you do not have on...green blink is in coverage, yellow is roaming, red is no service, green and red means a calls incoming

I checked out my friends V66 and checked the settings and they seem the same to mine, the only difference is the software version... his is SAP4_G_01.06.20R and mine is SAP4_G_01.06.14R. Does anyone know if the filmware can be upgraded by SMS ? Or can i get my own cable and flash it myself?

Has anyone figured out a solution here? T-Mobile wouldnt help me. All they would do is let me spend more money on an upgrade (after only 3 weeks of ownership, OH and this is my 3RD YEAR AS A SUBSCRIBER). Lke we all of hundredds of dollars to throw at phones that get their cost slashed in 6 months. Can we get a working phone from somone/somewhere????? Can we get the software upgraded?????? Is there an after market mod (no not those cheezy flashing antennas. besides they only work when you get a call...bid deal!)????? |

Turns out the information I found out was correct. if you have S/W version SAP4_G_01.06.20R (which is on all new V66's) for the Moto V66 then the status light is a working feature. My rep from Executive Consumer Relations at T-Mobile is sending me a new phone now that he verified over the phone with me that works. So you can do 1 of three things... 1. Skip Customer Service (who doesn't know a thing about getting this to work) and call T-Mobiles Executive Consumer Relations at 877-290-6323 and tell them that you need a phone sent to you with S/W version SAP4_G_01.06.20R (which is on all new V66's). 2. Get Moto to do it for you, all S/W upgrades are free under warranty. Unfortunately you've got to pay for shipping and lose your phone for 2-3 weeks (OUCH!). 3. Get your S/W upgraded by a 3rd party, in case your out of warranty. Hope this helps! |
