Default Palm Dialer & V710

Some claification please.

I was able to connect my Palm Tungsten T3 to my V710 as far as they recognised each other. I know that I cannot download my palm address book to my phone because of the obex limitations. My question, I was using the phone dialer from the palm to try and make a wireless phone call to the phone. I dialed the number from the palm, the phone connected, it showed on the phone that it was calling but before the call would go thru it dissconnected. Is this an OBEX problem also, or is this supposed to work and I am just doing it wrong? I am sure some of you experts will be able to answer my Q?

I have not read a single, verifiable instance where the Palm Dialer application worked via Bluetooth with the v710. Can you still use the v710 to surf the internet with your T3? Seems like that's the only non-headset BT functionality presently available.

I was planning on upgrading to the v710 this week to hopefully use it as a Bluetooth modem for my Palm T2 but maybe I should wait until this firmware update is available.

I was unable to get the internet surfing to work. Do you know the steps required to make this happen? Thanks

From HoFo

I can't verify that this works since I haven't taken the plunge on the v710 yet.

I followed the set up to the T, my phone connects to the palm, I see the data pack on the phone. The problem is when I go to web pro on the palm I cannot see any web pages. The forum on hofo was mostly talking about the actual connection. When the connection was established it seems that everyone was able to surf the net from their palm. I got the connection established but could not go to any websites. I would highlite a website like goolge and hit go and nothing would happen. I know the phone and the palm were connected because you could see the connection take place. Any ideas on how to fix this?

thanks

If you don't have MobileWeb service, I don't think you can get data connectivity from #777. I got my v710 today, followed the instructions, paired my T2 with the phone and was able to surf without a problem. I do have the MobileWeb service.

I have mobil web as well but for some reason, though I was paired the T3 it would not access the web. Everytime I tried to put in a website on my palm nothing happened. I know it was connected but it appeared like it was not sending or recieving information.

What is the password when connecting is it 0000?

I went thru the complete process again using hofo as my guide. My T3 and 710 paired correctly, my phone showed the connection I believe it said data pack or something. The T3 went thru its process and said connection established. I went to webpro and nothing, I tried to go to different websites and it just wouldn't go.. Any suggestions

Hello,

Does anyone had success to link the Palm T3 to V710?
I did try everything to make a connection from T3 as dialer to v710, without success.
The devices recognize each other, but the connection stops before any action.

Thanks

All I am successful in doing is internet via my T3. (email and web) To my knowledge, the phone dialer nor the SMS tools will work, as they need a specific driver for both the phone and the service. It appears to me that pretty much everything out there is currently written for GSM services and not CDMA. Until a specific v710 driver is available for the T3, I doubt you'll be able to do these other options.

If you do a search in the forums, you'll see that connecting to the internet is possible once you pair the devices. I check my mail pretty regularly using the VZW #777 dial-up on my T3 and it works fine. Understand that I am using dial-up networking... not the "Dialer" program. Also, this is in the US. I'm not sure about Brazil.

Here in Brazil we have many service operators. The v710, at least for this time, is exclusive of VIVO (CDMA operator).

VIVO doesn't have dialup or other access service like VRZ, so internet and email checking is out of question.

I'm still seeking for, at least, a simple connection between the T3 and v710 for dialing purposes.

Drivers wanted.

Thanks

Valter
