Default T720i Lack of Memory

Not sure if you t720 owners have experienced the same problem. But I experienced a memory shortage when trying to download a game from Motorola's website. The 720i came with the camera software and the Moto game preloaded, leaving me 57K of program space. I actually purchased a game from the Motorola website which downloaded fine but would not install because it required 59K of program space. Of course I purchased the game before I was aware of the lack of memory. And I only learned of the memory issue through Jan at T-Mobile's wireless data group, who actually took the time to help me figure out why I could not install the game.

Also, found a site for free games. Point your phone to wap.jams.to or look online at http://www.jams.to

Anyone else have simliar issues?

Start here for Moto Games

as far as the memory issue, I remember reading somewhere that the T720i loses half it's usable memory to the camera. I can't find the link though. But I also think it said it used up the space reserved for address book which wasn't a concern with the GSM phones since they can store an additional 250 names on the SIM card. It's definitely strange you only have that little memory free. I wonder if something is taking up more memory than it should. Maybe a T-Mobile technician at an actual T-Mobile store can be more helpful than the phone support.

Default T720i Lack of Memory

I did try a T-Mobile Retail store. The rep told me to call the customer service number and ask to speak with a tech. The tech was helpful, but limited since this phone is still pretty new for T-Mobile.

I'm thinking that this phone only came with about 140K java program space. Guess I wont be loading any cool games on it. I also remember the thred about the camera and the photos taking up address book space. But I haven't recieved my 'mail in rebate' camera yet, so I don't think that;s causing my shortage.

the motogp game and camera application fill up the java space. You can add new games but you have to delete the motogp game first. The camera application is there whether you plug in the camera or not.

Anyway to back up the Moto game so I don't have to purchase it again?
