Best method of synching 710 and palm With bluetooth file transfers still unlikely in the future (and the fact that my older palm m130 doesn't have bluetooth) I was wondering if there was a simple way to sync these 2 devices as far as calendar functions go. I have heard others use Outlook (I can install this if needed, but choose not to as I have found a better (secure) solution for my email), but I was hoping there was a way to convert the palm calander into a format that the phone could understand. Either way I was just wondering what those of you that use Palm's do to synch up the calendars. TIA.

Re: Best method of synching 710 and palm I've got a V710, Palm Zire 72, Bluetooth USB adapter, Mobile Phone Tools, and the USB sync cable at work where I use Microsoft Outlook and PocketMirror against an Exchange server.
My work email box is where I make most to all of my changes. For the Zire, I hotsync via Bluetooth and connect to my mailbox to sync calendar with the PocketMirror add-in. For my V710, I use Phone Tools with the USB cable and sync my calendars together.
Only way I know how to go about it for now. Good luck.

Re: Best method of synching 710 and palm I take a similar approach with a Mac: hotsync the Palm (via bluetooth) to iCal, then sync iCal to the V710 separately (via USB), using iSync for both. Although I use bluetooth for the Palm, I'm sure USB would work the same.
The reason I keep them separate is that iSync can get a bit confused about what came from where, so doing them apart lets me double-check things before I step on the phone or Palm contents. (but it's not common, and if I had bluetooth sync for the V710 I'd just do them both in one run). I'm a bit paranoid because an early sync managed to erase my voicemail entry, and I didn't notice until later (and the pin was only stored in the phonebook; dumb).
The downside of sync to the phone in general is that notes attached to Palm calendar entries, although they make it to iCal, have apparently no way to be represented in the phone's Datebook, so only meeting names get over there, and not their location information (or conference bridge number) that I've stored in a note.

Re: Best method of synching 710 and palm I have the USB cable and MPT on XP Pro (the 12" Powerbook needs to wait a while till I get a more permanent job). What I would basically like to do is use the Palm software as my Main program and sync the phone off that. Seems like outlook is the prog tha tI will have to learn to use in order to accomplish this. If anyone has any other ideas on the best way to do what I want,i I would be appreciative.
