Can you use the Case Leather and Holster at the same time? or Does the Case Leather has a clip of his own?

The leather case will have a clip of its own.

I prefer a leather case or a pouch, as it protects the phone better. Holsters won't protect a phone if you bang your phone against objects. Also I have had my phones pop out of holsters and land very hard on hard surfaces before, either from not putting them in correctly (think I did of course) or the holster looses it's grip on the phone from use.

I like the leather holsters much better also. They do protect better, but for some reason of Murphy's, mine have this tendency to fall and hit the tiniest spot that doesn't have any protection. I still like em better though as they offer more complete coverage. |

I have always been a little nervous about holsters. Maybe holsters with newer phones are better at keeping them secured, but I have always favored the leather case. I do agree that cleaning them is a must. I haven't experienced the scratching to the phones from particles between the plastic and the phone. I guess it is really a matter of personal taste. I see many people using holsters versus the leather cases, but I feel, for myself, the leather case is better than nothing at all. To each his own..

Yes I got the one on Verizon. I find out if you dont put it all the way on your side(hip) it can fall.

I prefer something that stays on my belt and covers the phone (a holster with a flap, basically). I don't like the leather wrappers with plastic (or no) windows or the open clips that leave the phone exposed. So far, the best I've found is a Body Glove Large Cellsuit. This is neoprene front and back (elastic on the sides), covering the whole phone (including protecting the lens, something many other holsters leave exposed) except for the top (no flap). It has reasonable side-to-side protection (it's a fraction wider than the phone, so there is some side impact protection) and the clip is secure. I have exactly two problems with it: 1) There's no flap, and pressure (like sitting in a car's bucket seat) can squeeze the phone out of it like toothpaste. I almost lost the phone once, and now I check it when getting out of the car. 2) The clip attaches to the case with a snug friction fit. A really hard impact (like all 200 lbs of me sitting down, if it hits a chair arm) will pop the holster off the clip (the clip stays on the belt). It snaps back easily, and this is much better than a broken clip (which I've managed in the past), but it's still a way you can loose the phone. I'm still looking for an ideal holster (one with a flap), but this is close. |

Another vote for leather. I use a Motorola V60i (tho I'm considering upgrading to the V710) and initially I had a holster. Well, over time, the pulling of the phone out of the holster while on my belt caused the casing around the LED (the inside, while the phone was open) to crack ever so slightly, but more and more until it was basically broken and I had to replace the phone. This happened THREE times. I finally deduced that it was the holster causing the problem (or the motion of taking it out) that was putting pressure on the casing causing it to crack. I switched to the leather case which I like the feel of a lot more anyway. The casing is still cracking, but it is miniscule and it took almost 8 or 9 months to even show signs of that. Or maybe more. |

I vote leather. The last phone I used a holster for was the Moto V8160. I'd keep it right on my hip but in the office when turning corners, the holster would hit the wall and a few times the phone popped off and hit the floor. I shifted it to the lower back area which helped a lot but like someone said, it was scratching up the sides and causing little cracks. |

Those eBay holsters/cases look interesting, but I don't like the horizontal approach. My current pouch can be turned to be horizontal (it grips the phone snugly enough that it could be upside down for that matter), and I'm always having to turn it to vertical. Between my belt loops and the sides of chairs, there seems to be a very limited place to put the belt case without banging it on something or having it above my leg when I'm seated (which tends to hit whatever's in my pocket). I don't think I'd like a case that took up more linear space on the belt. | |
