| Ok I bought a handsfree kit for my new Motoroloa T720 and these are the questions I have for whoever can help. 1. There are 4 cables that connect to car: + : Goes to battery + terminal - : Goes into basicly anything metal Is the metal pieces areound the fuse box under dash ground? Acceptable location for black - cable? Now there are these two special wires: A Green wire that is ignition wire and it must connect to a point in the vehicle fuse box that is switched on and off with the vehicle ignition, BUT DOES NOT GET PULLED TO GROUND DURING VEHICLE CRANKING. Where can I find something like this easiest? Pics? Would this also be appropriate for wiring my remote cable from my amp? Next there is a "orange entertainment mute wire" that plugs into your radio and mutes it when a phone call comes in. Does my stock non-bose (maxima 2000) radios support this? if so where is this located? how do i get to it? thnkz in adv |

Just installed my kit today. Works very nicely and IS full duplex for those wondering. To choose where you are connect wires to, you really should use a volt meter. This way, when you are trying to pick a good spot for the ground (black) wire, simply measure the voltage from where you have attached the red wire (hopefully on the battery terminal as recommended) and the metal spot you are considering to connect the black wire. If the metal spot is a good one, you will read 12 volts or so on the meter. The meter is also extremely helpful in finding a spot for the green wire. The kit says to connect the green wire to a place where the car's 12 volts is present only when the ignition switch is on. I found a spot on the relay panel under my dash by placing the black meter lead on a metal spot and probing connections on the relay panel with the red meter lead (with the ignition on). When the meter read 12 volts or so, I turned the ignition off to see if the 12 volts went away. When it did, I had found my spot. Other possible locations are lights that turn on only with the ignition switch, the power lead for the radio (if it goes off with the ignition). One surprise (to me) was that to fully dock the phone in the cradle, you have to remove the protective plug for the antenna on the back of the phone, and when the cradle's antenna connector makes contact with the phones antenna connector, the phone's internal antenna is apparently switched out. Ths means that you you need an auxillary antenna if you fully dock your phone. I found this out when my phone went into analog mode with almost no reception indicated. Undock the phone and it went back to digital with full reception. I hdid not attach the orange wire to anything, but I did make sure that the exposed wire would not accidently make contact with anything else. I did not want to remove my radio and still not find any place to connect the orange wire to. Maybe some other day. I also can't answer your question about the remote cable for your amp. |
