Does the T720 with the 1000 mAh battery installed fit in the Dual Pocket Desktop Charger? Will the thicker battery work in the second slot?

I don't have the 1000ma battery, but I do have a dual compartment charger ( The silver and blue one with the clock.) There is a lot of room in both compartments for thicker batteries. You shouldn't have a problem.

I have the dual desktop charger with clock but I dont really like it. What I dont like is the fact that it is designed to accomodate several different phones and battery types. You have to guesstimate where to stick your battery in the rear slot to get the terminals to lineup for charging and the phone doesnt fit snugly into its charging port.

I have read that the black Motorola dual charger is made specifically for the T720. Can anybody tell me if they have the black Motorola dual charger and whether it fits the phone and battery or is made to accomodate many phone/battery combinations like the charger with the clock?

I will always love my old star-tac

To answer your question, YES the T720 with 1100 mah extended battery does fit the Motorola dual desktop charger with clock and yes the larger batter fits the battery port.

there are two version of the dual desktop charger with the clock. one is the 5019, the other is the 5038. The later version is designed specifically for the T720, and comes with a clear piece of plastic to fit into the back pocket, and create an exact fit for the T720 battery.

I just received mine and it is a 5019A. it comes with a piece of clear plastic to adjust the width of the rear battery port but there is no way to adjust for a T720 battery.

are you familiar with the black motorola dual charger??

I purchased the T720 dual desktop charger and am very pleased with it. It came with the addapters for both the front where the phone plugs in and the rear pocket where the extra battery slot is. I am able to slip my extra-capacity battery in the charging slot with no problems. The clear plastic adapter that slips into the slot fits snugly and lines the battery up perfectly weather or not it is the extended capacity.
No problems here. You just have to make sure that you purchase the one that is for the T720. It comes with the correct adapters.

As I said before, there are two version. the 5019 version comes with 2 pieces of clear plasic, one for the front, and one for the back. This version WILL NOT fit the battery of T720 without manually lining the battery up with the back pocket.

The 5038 version, which is designed for T720 as well as other Motorola phones as well, comes with 3 pieces of clear plastics. Two of these are the same as that of the 5019, but there is another one which is the size of the rear pocket, and will fit into it and limit the opening to the size of the T720 battery.

Did you get the 5038 at a Verizon store or where? I couldn't find a part with 5038 as the part number on the Motorola website.

I got mine from a Verizon store. There is no 5038 on Motorola's site, but on the bottom of the charger, you can see 5038.
