T720- Firmware and Upgrading

Just go the phone, how do I check what version I have? Also, I have not had any problems (yet) how can I get verizon to swap out the phone for the new firmware? What should I tell them?

Why is it they tote you can change the colors of the outside case, yet NO ONE has them available? Seems like a crappy marketing ploy.

You can check you s/w version by hitting the menu key and selecting settings. In the settings menu you will find an option called phone status. Select it and scroll down to other information. After selecting other information you will find a menu item called s/w version. This will tell you what software version you have.

I was able to swap my old .17p T720 for a new one last night at my local VZW store in NH. I just told them I was having problem with the phone and they just swapped it for a new on even though my 15 day trade-in period was up. I got fed up with the run-around regarding the software upgrade and decided to see if they would just change my handset for a newer one. I guess I got lucky.

As far as colors are concerned, the only thing you can change is the color of the front cover. The covers were being advertised on the Motorola and VZW site a little while ago but it seems like they've taken them down. I was able to find some covers at my local VZW store so you might want to call around to see if any stores in your area has some. If not there, try eBay or some place like that.
