Default Isn't The Motorola Timeport 270c New?

Okae, well, I thought that the Motorola Timeport 270c was new. Well i was looking at it and noticed that It was a CDMA phone and was available on Alltel and Quest Wireless but discontinued on Verizon Wirelessicon (according to www.phonescoop.com : http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?id=42) Why would it be discontinued on Verizonicon? Is the phone old?

Default Isn't The Motorola Timeport 270c New?

I got this phone (for Verizonicon) about a year ago. I believe it was new at that time. It's a year later and I still have it! I love this phone. The only negative for me is it's size. If you can deal with it, then I would highly recommend it. Another negative is lack of games. There are none. This was not a concern for me.

You are correct that about two months ago Verizonicon discontinued the phone. I asked a sales rep why and they said that Motorola was not making them anymore.

The batteryicon life is excellent and the speakerphone quality is great. If you have any questions about this phone, please post.

I recently emailed Motorola about the 270 and their continued/discontinued production, since I have two and feel they are really excellent. Their response follows

I have 2 Motorola 270c phones. I love this phone - excellent sound quality, great reception, speaker phone. It's size is the only negative. This phones now sell on eBay for over $100. I am wondering why it was discontinued. (poor sales?) How about an updated version? I believe there is still a market for this size phone. Sincerely, Jay Berkowitz

Motorola is still manufacturing and selling the Timeport P270 cellular phone. We do not currently offer an updated version of this unit, however your carrier may have released a software upgrade.

I assume Verizonicon discontinued the 270 for some other reason. Good to know it is still being made. (at least for a while anyway).
