I had the same problem when I first got my t720 (and a Timeport I had two phones ago, actually.) and all you have to do is call tech support and tell them. They should be able to fix it qucikly.

The cheapest mobile web with 100 alerts is $6.95 a month. And to answer the topic question: Crap. |

I like my T720 very much. I don't have any probs with my battery and the earpiece volume is just fine for me. I don't have the problems that other people have reported.

the web browser sux, dont even bother. You need to log onto WAP enabled websites, which arent many to begin with, IMHO stick with using the internet with your comp at home, save 7 bucks amonth

To also answer the topic, CRAP!!! Return if you can! There's a slew of newer phones on the way that will eclipse the crapy T720. The LG 4400, A530, and CDM9500 to name a few. I've been eligible for an upgrade for like 4 months now but did not jump on the bandwagon, still waiting for the perfect phone without the horrible batt life and the "obvious" and "silly" bugs!

Don't get your hopes up on the other color phones...there have been several reports on other newsgroups from technicians that the Audiovox CDM-9500 is so buggy that it won't even boot up properly. And if you don't want problems with the phone OS, stay away from LG's. The last LG that I had was the 510, and I guess someone over there decided that it would be convenient to sort the phone book by the entry number, not alphabetically. Plus, whoever designed the phone thought it would be attractive for the battery to have a series of craters on it. The only phone that seems to have potential is the a530, but after the a310 and the lack of support for it, I don't have much faith in Samsung. There's always the v60e of course...vaporware...the only photo of this thing is the concept model on howardchui.com, and nobody else has any hard evidence of it's release date. BTW, if you condition the battery properly, you should have two and a half days standby and an hour talk time on the t720, which is what I do. And I have yet to have this phone freeze up on me. But the mobile web...it's useful only if you want to check the weather in the evening before you leave in the morning or you want to catch the latest scores, but otherwise it's not the greatest thing.

I love the T720 and would most definitely say that it is NOT crap. Great features, cool looks, small and lightweight. Granted, so far it's had a few problems, all of which look to be fixed by current or upcoming software flashes. I have had no gripes other than the fact that the menu takes a little time to catch up to where I move it. That should be fixed by the .19 software flash. My batt life is fine, considering the phone has a COLOR SCREEN. You can't expect it to last as long as a StarTac without a color screen. That's just asinine. To each his own, though. Enjoy whatever phone you end up with. I'm sure your wait for the "perfect phone" will not be fruitless. | |

It's crap, you just don't wanna say it cuz it makes you feel more comfortable knowing that you didn't pay $200 for crap.

Merlin, you're a real @$$hole. This forum is for discussing phones, not to analyze other people. There are in fact some people that like this phone. I genuinely like this phone, as do my friends who also have picked up this phone. So here's the facts: I have no problems with this phone. It does have a shorter battery life, but for my purposes, two days of standby is fine. The OS is fine, it's a little slow with the old firmware, but it's straightforward. One more fact: Merlin is obnoxious and has offended me and the orignal poster. While he may dislike our phones, he has no right to judge us and our opinions.

I have the current firmware 19c and the T720 is an excellent phone. I have not tried the browser but other than that the phone is great. The firmware upgrade makes the difference. I would not expect a great online experience with any phone.

I too love the phone. I've had a number of great phones and a few really bad ones in the 10+ years I have had mobile phones. Currently I think this is the best. There a few little things to get worked out (like uploading pictures and saving them as wallpaper), but I think I am going to be really pleased in the long run. Like everything else, what one person loves, someone else hates. If you don't like the T720 return it, don't _____ about it. I for one come to sites like this to learn more about the phone and pick up tips on its use, not to hear a bunch of lame complaints. |
