I've come to the conclusion that the Verizon stores in NYC have no clue about the software upgrade or are just plain ignorant to their customers. These are the stores in NYC that I have been to where they have flatly denied any existence of a new software version: 21 St. 5th Ave 34 St. 7th Ave 42nd St. 6th Ave The store on 73rd St. and 3rd Ave told me that they had heard about a possible upgrade but haven't received anything yet. I'll try them tomorrow since it's been a week already and keep you posted. |

43rd and madison st, those techs knew what I was talking about, knew about the upgrade, but said it hadn't come in yet and was still under testing. nice guy as well, took down my number and will call me back when the upgrade is available.

43rd and Madison has the new phones in stock (ver .19c) - I don't know if they have the software to flash phones with the older software or not. Shawn and Larry in the Tech area know all about the different versions.

That's good to know, thanks. Went to the one on 73rd St and they did not have the upgrade, although the tech had told me that he had also heard it through other stores. I can't understand why it's hit or miss with these stores, don't they all receive updates from the head office at the same time? |

Yeah, apparently NO ONE in the city has the software to upgrade the phone yet ... So if you can convince them to swap the phone, I think you're good (otherwise you wait until they can flash upgrade soon ...) But what happens when they come out with version 19D, is everyone going to SWAP again?!? Come on ... |

For those of you who have swapped phones with the new software version (17p to 19c) ... is there a way one can tell the software version from looking at the box? I've called a bunch of VZW's and RADIOSHACK's in my area (NYC), and most didn't know and didn't want to open boxes and phones to find out ... is there another way i can tell? |

i totally agree with you. i think the vzw stores in the city are terrible. they dont have a clue and the workers in the store on 34th and 7th ave store are just nasty.

I've been going to the one on 34th street for some time now, and usually they're nice, except for this one rep that is constantly having a b*tch attack. There's one guy there, Patrick, that's always nice.

I went to the verizon store in 71st continental Queens. They never herd of a 19D, they keep saying 19C is the latest version, and if there was a 19D they would've at least gotten an e-mail about, however they havnt. I'd have to say thats one of the worst verizon stores around, makes a customer wait for 40-60min for some help . Im gonna try the verizon store on 53st and 3rd ave. See if they know anything about the 19D. I'll keep you guys posted
