The HS820 has been working great(except for only ringing on the headset). For some reason when i turn on the 820 for the first time on a particular day the phone does not connect unless i have it search for the device. Yes I have the bluetooth all set up and the HS profile. Has anyone else had this problem??????????????????????????

I think I might be able to help unless I misunderstood your question. You have the option to turn you bluetooth on or off. When connecting to your HS820 it asks the question do you want to temporally want to turn on bluetooth, you say yes, click on the hs820 and it is on. If you turn off your hs820 and then quickly turn it back on your phone will pick it up and activate it. However if you leave it off for awhile the bluetooth on the phone turns off. Now as stated earlier you have the option under "connections" to turn on your bluetooth which leaves it on, in this way it uses your battery faster but should pick up your HS820 everytime you turn it on.

Let me know if this answers your question and if it worked..

I have the same problem. After a while, if i turn it on, the v710 doesn't activate bluetooth. I have to go in and manually connect it. I didn't have this problem with the other earpiece.

Did you check the settings according to Sportsman's post? Go to settings....Connection.....Bluetooth Link....Setup and make sure Power is set to on. As per Sportsman, when you pair your headset, it turns BT on. It only stays on temporarily. Once you turn off the headset, you will lose the connection and it will need to be reset if it is disconnected for a while. This saves battery. If you turn this setting to on, you should connect everytime you turn on the headset.

I started to have that problem when I switched to an MP3 Ringtone. Also, here's another interesting new thing -- If I don't answer a call that comes in, the next time I try to use voice commands, if I don't go through with making a call, the headset shuts off. When I turn it on again, I have to manually connect it via the v710 -- It won't automatically pair.

Yes the bluetooth connection is set to "power on" and it still does not always automatically connect. To add some detail to my problem this seems to have started when I hooked up my 820 to my friends phone. I have since turned bluetooth "power off" AND delted the 820 profile from his phone. Any Help???

According to the HS820 manual (pg 13) the HS820 will only initiate a connection to the device it was most recently connected with when turned on. Other devices need to initiate the connection themselves (which may be what happens when you have the phone do the search).

Now, if the manual is right, once you've made that connection, that device (i.e., your phone) should be the "last device connected" the next time you turn on the headset. If that's not happening, it may be a problem in the headset.

There doesn't seem to be any way to wipe the headset's memory, but you might try deleting the pairing on your phone, and re-pairing the headset with it.

The other thing I have found is that sometimes if the headset battery is running down, the "automatic connection" is not reliable. So the tip is to make sure the headset is always fully charged.
