I am looking at the Motorola V120 Professional Hands Free Car Kit. I am curious if anyone knows if an external antenna can be hooked up to the "brain box" or if the antenna still has to be hooked to the back of the phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it is hooked up to the brain box..........and that is about it. It improves reception a bit.

Howdy...If it like any other unit I have had in the past...including the V60 and the T720....the Antenna attaches to the cradel.

It hooks up to a line coming off the cradle.

You remove the little rubber plug on the back of the phone (just below the base of the antenna), and a small connector on the cradle connects to the antenna.

OT: I just noticed my v120c plays polyphonic ringtones when docked in the professional hands-free car kit! Whee!
