Yes, you are correct. However, if you want 30 second long MP3 ringtones,go to www.walmart.com Go into the music section, find the song you want, preview it if you like, save it to your pc,change the file extension from .mp3 to .mid and then you can either e-mail them to your v710 or go through www.vzwpix.com I e-mail them, vzwpix doesn't work for me but everyone says it does, remember if you e-mail them, it's a quarter each time you send a e-mail unless you got a pix bundle.

Just another note, if you use the transflash card you do not have to change the extension from mp3 to mid. You only have to do this if you email them to yourself. Since I got the transflash card I do not use vzwpix to email myself, but prior to that I did and it worked fine.

With the transflash card you just format it on the phone then. Plug it into your reader. Go to motorola, shared files, audio, copy and paste songs right in there.

I will repeat the process that I have used, maybe somewhere in what I am saying is what you are missing. Go to Walmart.com and there you have to go to the cd section or music section. If you try and save the streaming music it will not work. You do not want to be at the download section. You will know that you are in the right place when you see that the extensions says mp3 on the particular cd you are looking at. Save the song to where ever you want. Make sure that you have the extension viewable on your screen and change the name to example song.mid Then go to your vzwpix site and upload this song to your page. From there send it to your phone. I have done this many times and it has worked everytime. I now use the tranflash card because it is much easier and faster to get the music into the phone and you do not have to change the extension from mp3 to mid. Let me know if this helped.
