So I see this guy selling the v60c USB Data Kit on Ebay and claiming that it'll work with the 720, is this true??!! Can someone confirm this for me? I have the Data Kit for my v60c, but when I tried to sync it won't work since the driver is not available even though my computer recognize T720. I was told that the Data Kit or Office Mobile Kit for T720 won't come out until October and they are selling it for $80 because it's got 1rTT. thanks angela |

there is very little information about the accessories for this phone. mot's website doesn't even have the PDF version of the manual. my guest for your question is that the pinout and the cable will be one and the same, however you will need the T720 driver to get it to work. the ac adaptor is exactly the same as the one for the v60 phones, i think my car charger still works (haven't tried yet). and the speakerphone for this phone is also the same as the v60. so i'm pretty sure the pinout is the same. --Andrew

When I bought my T720, the Verizon store said the v60 TruSync would work and sold it to me. It didn't because of no driver and I returned it. I spoke to people at Verizon and Motorola and both said the store was wrong and the driver isn't available. The Verizon rep called Motorola and then e-mailed me back (suprisingly good response from Verizon) saying Motorola is working on it and check back in a couple of weeks to see if it's available. It's the main reason I picked this phone over the Samsung 310 as I want to sync my calander and contacts with the phone.

so after I wrote an e-mail to the guy selling it on Ebay, he took out T720 in the title & description to all of the listings for the Data Kit. Truesync for T720 will be available sometime in October. |

Just got my phone today at the Verizon store. they had stacks of USB data kit boxes under the phones so I grabbed one. when through the same drill as everyone else, i.e. discovered there is no driver support, called motorola and they told me that there is no data kit out yet for the phone. Called up the store and gave the manager an earful. Now I gotta drive all the way back there tommorow and return this kit. I'm sorta pissed, cause I've been using a timeport p8167 for over two years and I'm used to synching my outlook contacts into the phone, and I use the data feature because i need to be able to get to the network from the road. Looks like I'm going to have to keep my sprint service for a few more weeks until this gets sorted out. Motorola botched the launch of this product. the phone is targeted at road warriors and they released the phone without the tools road warriors use. |

First day and people are already whining and moaning like little children. What's wrong with waiting a few days? A few days late is not botching it up. |

2. I asked the guy at the store if the kit next to the phones worked with the phone because I did not see the model # on the box. he and the other sales guy said it would work just fine. 3. I use my cel phone as business tool. I have a large number of contacts to synchronize that change on a daily basis and I need data service on the go because of service level guarantees with my customers. We are talking about features that are a requirement for the way I run my business, not gee whiz B.S. like wallpaper or ringtones. 4. Look at it this way: you go to a Honda dealer and buy a car. You find out later as you drive down the road in 90 degree weather that the A/C is missing. you call the dealer and get dumped into a broken autotatenndant that keeps leading you into dead ends. You call Honda and tell them you have no A/C, they tell you it's not ready yet. You drive 20 mailes back to tell the sales guy at the dealeship becuase the stinking autoattendant at the dealership won't let you talk to a live body on the phone, and it turns out no one at the dealership knew that cars were shipping without A/C. Sounds rediculous doesn't it. My time is vaulable and I don't like having it wasted. If you want to call that whining, then fine, I'm whining.

I went to the Starfish website before and I even wrote an e-mail inquiring driver for T720. I was told to contact Motorola directly, they can't help with it. Angela |

I totally agree with LPD on this point. It isn't whining! Do not advertise built in PDA sync functions if it is not built-in. And especially not if it isn't even available as a option. I also totally agree on the point of the unknowledgable Verizon staff in the stores. Before buying the T720, I picked up the Samsung A-310 at a Verizon store because every sales person in the place swore that the data kit would support full contact/schedule sync capability, one person even said he had seen it with his own eyes! What happens when I get it home??? Shure enough, no sync capabiities.. what I bought was a wireless modem. I then spent hours on the net and phones with Verizon, Samsung, etc. before finding out I was SOL. When I returned the Kit and explained the situation to the sales guy, his response was "uh, that sucks." Anyway, I thought I would be good to go when I exchanged it for the T720 after looking at the online demo on motorola's website which says "PIM functionality ut of the box" but I was wrong. At least now I have enough sense NOT TO BUY ACCESSORIES UNLES YOUR PHONE MODEL IS SPECIDICALLY LISTED ON THE BOX!!! Bad on Verizon in my opinion... JC |

Hi Guys, Just thought I would add my 2 cents to this issue. I bought a T720 on 09/23 and used to own a V60C, the Mobile Office Kit for 14.4 access. The one thing is my cable is serial 9 pin, I have no problem utilizing Verizon's Express network with my cable. The problem I noticed is that you have to manually go into the modem properties and change the username and password for express network. It took me over 6 calls to get the correct information from Verizon MICC line, I kept getting authentication errors since Verizon evidently has seperate username/password for the 2 type of dial in services they are offering without telling their reps about the changes.. If you are using USB, then I am sure that you will have to wait until Motorola/Verizon comes out with the appropriate set of drivers. Fortunately I decided against the USB cable when I made my original purchase because of the continual problems everybody experiences with the USB standard. Anyway if you are getting an error 645 in your call logs you are experiencing what I went through. I hope this helps out. |

just got a pre-release usb version of the software, it should be released to the stores very shortly. It transferred all my date book entries from the palm desktop into the phone. The only glitch was not carrying over repeated events (Birthdays etc., ) no biggie, the important stuff went smoothly. I am not using as a modem so I don't know how well it works for that. It does what I need it to do.

Sorry guys, but I can't send out (copyrights, morals, ethics,my job--you pick one), it will be out any day and you can purchase it at the local stores. I would add, it does not do everything as much as I am sure some people want it to do, but as far as giving me the info I need for the datebook, its very good. Remember, its just a small little program, not a laptop or pda, but it does work very nicely with both. |

I am sorry for the confusion. I was not asking for you to do something that was not permitted. I was asking how we could get to be a field tester of this and how to receive the file to do so. I am in the software industry and have been for over 30 years. I would not want you to send me something unless it was ok to do so.

No problem, I stumbled into this situation for this program by accident. It just worked out for me this time. Sorry I can't get more of these opportunities, myself.

I can't beleive Motorola released such an advanced phone without having the software ready for it. I just bought mine yesterday so it appears that I will only have a short wait. For those of you who bought your T720 months ago, this bs must make you livid. I just switched to the T720 from the Ericsson T68i. The T68i was nice, but I prefer the slightly larger form factor of a flip phone. For those of you that are in desperate need of an advanced phone that does phone book / calendar synching now, I highly reccomend it. If you have an infrared port on your PC or laptop, there is no need to purchase a data kit for synching. You simply download the software free from Sony/Ericsson's site, enable infrared on the phone and point it at the PC. To use wireless data, you must purchase the kit to get the software but once the software is installed, you can use the same infrared link to access the internet via the phone. I found the T68i's interface to be slightly more cumbersome than the Motorola's and also a little sluggish, but it still is a great phone.

Just talked to a Motorla rep. The Truesync software for the T720 went back to QA, and will not be ready until mid December 02.

I have a question for any current users of TrueSync with Motorola phones. What contents are synchronized? Is it just the contact info or will it also handle calendar and tasks from Outlook? The Sony Ericsson T68i/XTENDConnect software works very well in this respect. Mark |

Hey folks. I'm new here, just bought a T720 yesterday. To my frustration, I discovered that the Mobile Office Kit, which is what is currently available, doesn't let you sync your datebook, just your phonebook. The Truesync software doesn't seem to be available yet, at least the store folk didn't have a clue what I was talking about..... Vicky Rowe |

My friend bet me that with my very first post, I couldn't make everyone happy. How's this: TrueSync Plus 3.1 Update for T720 (Requires existing TrueSync Plus installation, such as V60.) |
