Push the microphone button on the side of the phone. Say name dial. Say the name. The phone will ask you which location (if there is more than one number for that name) it will then dial that location. Pretty easy. |

No, you have to go thru that procedure even if you have the 810 or 820 headset. I actually think this is great, a past user of the lg 6000 it was a pain to attach a voice tag to all of my contacts. I like just being able to say name or digit dial.. |

2 buttons on the right side. Lower one for less than a second will bring up the voice dial feature.

To answer what I think was DJ's original question, there IS a way to record "v60" style voice tags into the V710 - I didn't bother reading that section of the manual because I don't have any non-anglocized names in my phonebook. But it can be done. Just to simplify the user-independent voice dial instructions from above, tho... 1) press the voice command button (right side of phone, LOWER button). Alternatively, if you're using the HS820, give the multi-function button a quick press. 2) phone says "Say a command." Say "Name dial." 3) phone says "Say the name". Speak the name of the person you want to dial, as you entered it in your phonebook. Speak normally - symbols such as "&" and "-" will be recognized. The phone will repeat the name. 4) If you have more than one phonebook entry for the name in step 3, the phone will ask "Which number?" Say 'home', 'mobile', 'work', 'main', etc. 5) Phone should say "Calling" - and the call is connected.

There is a way to make the "advanced digit dialing" more accurate by using the "adapt digits" feature. But there is no way to add voice tags, or otherwise deal with non-anglocized names. Andy W. | |

Has anyone tried to type in names phonetically into the phone book to see if the phone will accept hard to pronounce names?

I think this is the only way to get it to accept Non-american names. I call my grandmother Nagymama (Pronounced Nudge-mum-a [it's the Hungarian word for Grandmother]) I typed in nudgemama as her name and used voice dial and it recogonized that. The only trouble with this is that you will have akward names in your phonebook, not sure if there is a way to tag them or seperate them somehow.
