Does anyone know if the antenna base on the v60i can be installed on the v60c to make the antenna on the v60c more protected?

I call Verizon CS yesterday morning and give them hell about my antenna on my v60c being broke about 10x. So they told me they will sent me the antenna and the base from the v60i for free I only have to pay for shipping. I don't know will it fit, but I will let you know next week.

I don't believe that you can put a V60i antenna into a V60c. I believe there might be a slight difference mechanically and on the circuit board that could prevent using a different style antenna.

The base of the V60i CAN be retrofitted to the V60c. I just did it. I asked Verizon to send me the antenna and base of the V60i (Part # RLN5474A) and I was able to disassemble my V60c with a #6 torx head screwdriver and install the V60i antenna and base. |

G20Ryder - The v60i/c antenna does screw on to the base. You probably place a stubby antenna on it. Scott - I called Verizon customer service and told them that only had the phone for two months and had to replace the antenna several times already. They just sent me the parts and did not charge me. I called several local stores if they knew how change the antenna base between the v60i and v60c and they said it can't be done. Obviously that is not true. I read another post where a store swapped the antenna base for one of the posters. So I took the chance and it worked. |

you can change the antenna base for the v60c to the one for the v60i, its very easy, you need the #6 torx screwdriver and take off the 4 screws on the back. i change about 20 or so all say in the svc dept of a verizon store.

For $10 and a 30 minute wait, my local Verizon store upgraded my v60c without a hitch. The new antenna has been on for over a month now and it's MUCH stronger than the old one(s) were, even after dropping it once by accident. With the 2200 flash upgrade, I am pretty happy with my "almost" v60i. This was done in Greensburo NC, by the way. A friend also reports success in Greenville SC having the same procedure done. Does anyone know with the extended slim battery that is standard on the 60i will be made available for sale to existing 60c owners, btw? |

the antennas are free under the 1 yr warranty, and when i change them here at work, it takes about 5 minutes, but dont ya think its worth it for a better antenna? if your getting it done with more time involved, they need new people working at the store you go to.
