I just signed up with AT&T the other day, and got a great deal on two v60's using a shared minutes plan. Problem is, AT&T doesn't alow changing the alpha tags on the phone, so the "banner" inside on the display reads "shared" on both phones. I need to be able to differentiate between these phones, and neither AT&T or Motorola would help me to re-program the phone to allow the banner to be changed. I know that AT&T doesn't "allow" changing the alpha tag (which is very irritating in and of itself - I bought the phone, I should be able to whatever I want with it), but I think we all know that cell phones can be field programmed to do all kinds of things no one wants to tell you about. I had a VoiceStream Nokia 3390 before this, and the programming codes were all over the internet as to how to change all kinds of options not listed in the manual, but I can't find anything about the Motorola v60. AT&T tech department wouldn't give me the info, but basically they admitted it can be done. Does anyone have any technical info on re-programming AT&T Motorola v60 phones?? |

Mine does that sometimes, too. Make 100% sure you are putting in the correct sequence, including the #'s (I realized I was using the * for a while - moron ), then just keep trying it. For some reason, sometimes it tries to dial the number, instead of ask for the security code. Just do it again and again (and I think trying to enter the #PROGRAM# thing quickly helps - not lightning fast, just try to do it in 5 seconds or so from the time you start entering to the time you hit "send". Not sure, but I think it helps). Eventually you'll get in. Wait - Verizon? This should be an option on one of the menus, and you shouldn't need to go into the NAM setup. Check the maunual - I know it's in there. |

look if you want to change the alpha tag just hit #program# send . the go into nam setup. level one then scroll down to home tag and then change it to what you want. the phone will shut off, then turn on and will say no service for about 5 seconds. then the banner that you typed in will appear.

I was able to get up to the point to enter in the security code, but 000000 didn't work. Can you please reply with the correct security code for a V60t on AT&T's network. Thanks.

Thanks aloT~ I finally got rid of that AT&T banner. I noticed lot of options and anyone figured out how to tweak anything else besides the banner? Especially the AT&T Wireless on the external screen. |
