This may have to wait until the supposed September firmware upgrade, but anyone get their V710 to interface with their PDA? I'm looking at getting a Palm Zire 72, but want to make sure it'll talk with my V710. Thanks. |

I'd like to do the same with my iPaq, I was really disappointed that they couldn't talk. As far as I know we have to wait and pray the firmware upgrade addresses it. It seems like this phone's BT is almost intentionally broken though, so I'm not holding my breath... I spoke with a rep today who said the next Phone tools upgrade wasnt due until November. |

Well, PalmOne's trade-in deal ends in a few days, so had to go for it. Like you said, hopefully the September firmware upgrade will get it to talk with PDAs.

It's GREAT to know that you have internet access anywhere. I just pull out my Pocket PC and connect without even touching my phone. I also use the IPaq to dial numbers from my contact list.

Hmmm, I have an iPaq H3800, but neither device sees the other. Did you do any special configuration to get them to recognize each other, or did they just magically appear when you turned on the BT??? Any help would be loudly applauded... |

OK, I got them to find each other, but the only action available is to use the V710 as a modem for the ipaq. Any idea how to get it to share data too? Quote:

Got my Zire 72, but no luck. There's not a V710 option when setting up the phone link. Tried other models, got one to connect but not dial out. Maybe they'll have an upgrade soon. |

I'm on PPC version 3.0.11171 (doesn't say 2002 or 2003 anywhere I can find) I was quoting Npitlor about the dialing... I too would like to know... I'm looking forward to getting a TF card so I can transfer files between the two... Unfortunaltely I haven't found anyone who could do that with BT... |

Still, with all the bad press about the OBEXless BT, it was a nice surprise to see them find eachother... Even if I CAN only use the v710 as a modem... |

| OK, I tried this #777 thing at howard forums And I got them to see eachother, and beep but the phone says "dialing 9,011,0,#777 and never seems to connect... What do I have wrong? OK< I followed npitlor's advice, and deleted everything but the "g"'s from the settings>connections>dialing location>dialing patterns but.. I still get the connect/disconnect problem... it's faster this time so now I think it's actually connecting correctly, but it's rejecting the password or something... What did you use for your password npitlor? is it your phone's security password, your vzwpix password, your verizon-online password, or what??? Also, do you put yournumber@vzw3g.com or do you just put your number in, and vzw3g.com as the domain? Also, how do you keep from having to retype your login and password each time? -almost there... No, I havent talked to him, I just read a post on howardforums... here The only "dialing" i did was to enter in the data into connections, and then click the "connect" button, which effectively dials the #777 number... Unfortunately, I can't get any farther... |

Ok, I think I'm lost - how are we getting the V710 to work with a Palm via Bluetooth?

I think I found it Network Service: (Your Name Here) Username: (Your 10 Digit Number)@vzw3g.com Password: vzw Connect: (Your Phone Name) Phone: #777 Connection Name: VZ Phone Online Connect to: Phone Via: Bluetooth Device: VZ Phone Model: Nokia3650 Details Speed: 19,200 Init String (default): E0X5&D2&C1&S0+CMEE=1;+CSCS="GSM";+CMGF=0;+CNMI=2,1 ,2,2,1;V1 Thats about all I had to do and I was on! Seemed just as fast as the bluetooth connection to my G5 too! This does not seem to have anything to do with or help with getting the dialer or sms to work though |

In Some Places I See The Baud Rate Speed Setup To 19,200 And In Others To 115,200. Which One Is It?

You can set the modem speed, using the pocketpc select the following: Start Menu Settings connection connection again manage existing connections (select the dial-up connection) edit next next again Advanced... Baud Rate (put it as high as you can and it should auto-select) ok then finished |

I have an Ipaq 4150 -- Thats the WM2003 version. The "dial from contact" feature is unique to the 2003. I believe that there are some 3rd party contact manager programs for the PPC's running 2002 that add the BT function, but I'm not sure. As far as getting the v710 to work as a modem with a PocketPC, just use the user name and password mentioned, but don;t use any dialing strings... I haven't seen any that work, yet. To clear it up: if your cell number is (800)-555-1212, then your user name would be 8005551212@vzw3g.com You password would be vzw Make sure that the PocketPC is set to NOT wait for a dial tone Make sure that the modem is set to "Bluetooth Dialup Modem" Again, sorry for he delay -- It shouldn't happen again!

I did the same thing as you nip, and it worked great. I have the same ipaq and I found that if the earpiece was operating, the v710 wouldn't recognize the PDA. I had to disconnect the earpiece (turn it off) then it would discover the PDA.

I asked on another topic, but do we need Mobile2web service with Verizon to access the internet with a bluetooth PDA? I ordered it just in case, but I'm going to cancel if I don't need it! Thanks! |
