V710 + GSM = A840

A slightly more attractive outside cover. Interior seems to be the same.

You know, I think I like the cover on the V710 better. Cleaner lines. That said, my faith in Moto is rapidly being restored. Note that unlike the Samsung A790, this phone offers a full array of features regardless of which phone mode you're in.

The A840....Ceno, is this the phone that has been prophesized in the ancient Wireless Advisor scriptures? Who's coming has been foretold as the time of the super phone?

Here's a question: Presumably, VZW is going to put Vodaphone SIMs into the A840. Now, if that's the case, when the owner of an A840 travels into a GSM 900/1800 area, and the SIM kicks in, wouldn't it act like a "native" Voda subscription, rather than as a phone with a US SIM roaming onto its network (as would be the case with TMo, Cingular, etc.)? Or is Vodaphone going to come up with a special SIM card that IDs users of the US A840 and charges them a special rate accordingly?

Just some food for thought.

My guess would be that it will not be a normal Vodafone SIM, and the SIM lock won't except normal voda sims. Actually though, has anyone seen pictures of where a SIM would go? There is some debate as to whether the SIM will be user removable or not to prevent unlocking and roaming with a non verizon SIM.
