Just saw this on PS -- link -- if it's true, my faith my moto has been restored. It's the same phone that's been picked up on the FCC site, apparently.

THERE IT IS!!! Told ya! And if I am right, there may be a more advanced version of it a little later with the CDMA/GSM chipset.

Next time Bono and/or Ceno tells you something....believe it.

I just hope it doesn't get stuck in VZWicon's vaunted testing cycle - which might very well be a level of hell.

I hope it doesn't turn out to be another T720 fiasco.

I think anyone with half a brain sees the potential that Motorola and VZW have here -- a phone that'll be the object of heavy-duty envy. It doesn't take a psychic to see that the rumors as to when this phone is going to come out are going to fly -- I'm thinking it's going to be worse than the stories flying around the a530 (remember those?).

What I'd like to see is a phone that plays well on VZW's network, bonds with my Jabra Bluetooth headset, my laptop and my PDA, takes decent pictures, performs as advertised, and that has a solid build quality.

    Anyone remember this thread?

Ceno did incorporate several of my ideas into his post, but I think you get the idea. We both rock.

By the way, Ceno tells me the V710 is just Moto's mid level offering. Makes you wonder what the "high end" phone(s) will be able to do. It is probably something nobody has mentioned before for fear of people's head exploding with amazement.

What? Throw in a GSM/CDMA/AMPS chipset, 2 Mega pixel camera with 4x zoom and flash, 128mb onboard user ram, flash card slot, IR, and WAP 2.0 and people would be amazed? Why?

More like Q2 2004. It already has FCC approval and is in the second round of testing at Verizonicon. 4 rounds of testing is normal. Like I have been saying, CTIA in March will be the likely official unveiling.

Verizonicon and Motorola both have a way of spoiling a wet dream, I personally will believe it when it is on the store shelf.

But well done for the advanced heads up.

With my black L6 and wireless H500 ear piece, I feel like a naked boy roaming the country side.

If all this phone does is shut up the bluetooth whiners, I will declare it the single greatest accomplishment in the history of Verizon Wirelessicon.

Do you get a lot of those at the sales office, Fathead?
Is it too much to ask for a phone with physical buttons?

The v710 sure sounds like a "super" phone. Maybe even "better than the v600" you might say

I'll alert the local authorities to be on the lookout for a naked man sometime around the end of June.

Oooooohhhhh.....I forgot about........hhhmmmmm.....So it must be the V8-something or other that has the other "goodies" that weren't mentioned in the phone scoop description.

And Dru...you you forgot the MP3 player.

But you know what? NOBODY here will wait for the next step up (which will no doubt be unveiled soon, since this one is out in the open) ....we will all run out and get this phone the second it hits the stores.

Yes, it gets better. As was hinted earlier, the v710 will be the "mid-range" phone. Something similar, yet better, will follow in it's footsteps shortly after.

Well, if the even better phone is some high priced GSM/CDMA phone I'll pass on that one. I have no immediate plans on leaving the country, activating service, using the phone, cancelling the service, and returning home. Just deliver the goods.

    If the V710:

    A) Makes it to stores before June
    B) Does not take pictures of it's antenna
    C) Does not cost exactly one arm and one leg

    all will be good

Well if the phone is in phase 2 of testing (the make sure it has at least 47 software bugs stage) then june isn't incredibly farfetched, just mostly.

I'm gonna guess at least 250 for it (at first)

Looking at the photos of this phone, specifically on phonescoop, I am noticing one thing:

The Send and End keys are normal. Meaning send on the left, end on the right. Unlike every recent motorola i can think of.

That's because Verizonicon is standardizing the form factor for all their phones. They want to confuse their customers less by pretty much standardizing the button layouts and the software layout.
