The unit is coming from Romania, and he asked me to use Western Union to send money.
It's really suspicious, isn't it?

V600 Aston Martin Limited Edition Suspicious is probably an understatement. Western Union offers the buyer no type of protection against morons like this who are most likely out to scam you. Once you send the money, it is gone and WU is not liable if the guy on the other end sends the merchandise or not. Buyer Beware.

V600 Aston Martin Limited Edition Over at HoFo there have been reports of many hijacked eBay accounts with their addresses changed to Romanian addresses. Also, considering the limited nature of the AM-v600 run, I would tend to think this was a scam.

V600 Aston Martin Limited Edition Back when I bought my first digital camera on ebay, a guy was selling a sony for $300. under list. I had to send him the money via WU and I couldn't use a CC, so I wired cash to Texas.
A week later a box from egghead's NJ warehouse arrives with the camera BNIB.
I realize that I was lucky I didn't get scammed but in your case since the seller is not in the US, I wouldn't do it. One last thing- I will never wire cash through WU ever again no matter how cheap the product is. There's always a catch.

V600 Aston Martin Limited Edition Thank you guys for all the information,
I can see lots of these kinds of auction at eBay and sometimes Yahoo Auction these days.
It's not a real auction. They close the auction ealier just to show their cheap prices and ask people to contact them for details.
I 'm not trying to buy the phone from him. I just cannot believe that people are trying to steal money like that.

V600 Aston Martin Limited Edition Interesting... last time I used WU, about two years ago, they asked me a million questions about the money I was sending. They told me no less then five times that there was no way of getting money back from a scammer. Can't be too good for business.Originally posted by: Woodman

V600 Aston Martin Limited Edition So what is the deal here, is there's an Aston Martin edition of the v600? What makes it so special and does anyone have a picture of it? What is the cost for this thing? (I'm sure I don't want to know but curiosity is getting the better of me.)
Is it too much to ask for a phone with physical buttons?

V600 Aston Martin Limited Edition The AM v600 is an unbranded, unlocked v600 with the Aston Martin logo on the outside of the phone, above the situational lighting. It also includes special AM-themed ringtones and wallpaper. It comes in special limited-edition packaging and includes the HS-810 bluetooth headset.Originally posted by: rancidhooligan

The big thing about the the AM v600 is that it hit the market sometime in December, over a full month before the normal ATTWS
-branded v600 would be available.

V600 Aston Martin Limited Edition I can't afford a normal v600 let alone an AM v600 and what would be the point of having an AM v600 without an Aston Martin to go with it. I'll stick to my Civic and buy the Civic-themed Nokia 5165 or something.

V600 Aston Martin Limited Edition I don't think it was necessarilly a premium for AM owners, because a whole lot of them appeared on eBay & at other internet auction sites. I think the cache for this phone is simply that it's already on the market - an early-adopter status symbol, maybe?Originally posted by: axvx8xoxr

I believe Western union has a new service similar to Paypal called Bidpay, and it is starting to see more use on Ebay. That may be what he was refferring to. Just like Yahoo! has PayDirect and so forth.Chris Tanner

V600 Aston Martin Limited Edition Nah...I like my current icon...it fits me. I even made him look more evil by filling in the eyes. And last time I used Sniper Kitty I got accused of being the Highway Shooter. (God I'm sick of him....)

V600 Aston Martin Limited Edition Just to let you guys know. Do not send money through Western Union or Bidpay. I got scammed really bad. I bid on a Siemens SX56 for $399 on Ebay and paid through Bidpay, who uses Western Union and then I got an email from Ebay telling me not to pay for my auction yet because the person I won the auction from was under investigation and to wait until further notice from Ebay. Well, too late, I had already paid, and sure enough, I never received my PDA. I checked back on Ebay and the person was no longer a registered user. I filed several complaints and never got a dime. I sure learned my lesson.

V600 Aston Martin Limited Edition Speaking of Pay Pal I would buy your StarTAC in a heartbeat but they won't let us activate analog handsets on our employee accounts anymore. I would use it as a back up to my back up v2397 which is a back up to my Timport P8090... well, you get the idea.
