Hey everyone, Not sure if this is the appropriate forum for this but it seemed the most active out of the Equipment forums here. Looking for a little advice here. I'm in search of the best basic phone (any brand) currently available from Verizon. Let me clarify what I mean by that. I'm looking for a phone with the best combination of the following attributes (in order of importance): 1) reception 2) battery life 3) flip phone 4) menu interface (fast and snappy) I do not need extras like a color screen, camera, etc etc, but price is no object. So if the best phone for the above features happens to be a color camera phone, then that's fine. If it happens to be a cheap, non-color phone, that's fine too. But the list mentioned above are what's really important to me and where I do not want to compromise. Again, price is no object. What do you guys think? |

The phone with all those features (except flip), and the best reception Verizon has to offer is the Nokia 3589i. If you must have flip the LGVX 6000 is a good bet. For my money, I am willing to sacrafice cosmetics like a flip for a phone that is 99% dependable.

Yeah the Nokia seems to be highly recommended, however it's just a tad too bulky for my pockets.

For $19.00, Verzion sell a very attractive leather carrying case with a belt clip or you could get a none OEM case for a lot less. Quote Yeah the Nokia seems to be highly recommended, however it's just a tad too bulky for my pockets.

The phone really isn't that bad... If you like a flip phone... I have good things about the LG3200 ..the only thing it doesn't have a outside Display. It's a tri-mode phone. I also have heard good things about the LG4600 model as well. It does have the outside display...but it's only digital. For a fancier phone. Maybe the Samsung a670. I did play with it in the Verizon store. Very cute phone...nice and compact. Mixed reactions about the reception on that one. Good luck to you. Let us know what you end up with Welcome to the forum | |

I thought I read the that the Moto v60x (x is some alphabet that I can't remember) on Verizon was a workhorse, solid, unspectacular but does the job really well....

I had considered an A670 before I got my 7k... It is a very compact phone, but since you said that other features are not an issue that is what I perceive as it's best feature...But I too have had heard mixed feedback about this phone. If for some reason you do not like the 670, I would reccommend the VX6000, it has a very easy to navigate menu and (based on my experience) has very good reception qualities..
