LORD HAVE MERCY, this VX-6000 has to be the most amazing piece of cellular equipment I've ever owned. From the minute I got it out of its box and slapped that battery in I could feel its amazing power and strength. I hadn't even turned it on yet I was amazed because I am so used to the loose creakiness of that T720. This phone is solid, sturdy, and sound quality is soooo much better. I don't know if its necessarily because of the phone, I personally believe that this VX-6000 just has better speaker placement (with the T720, you have to get it in just the right position to hear nicely). I mean.. I'm ecstatic, I can't really describe how wonderful this phone is. And the camera, there are people actually complaining about this thing. Its just amazing, at least to me. Great quality considering its just an extra feature on a cell phone that I didn't even want. Even though its all digital, which I originally didn't want, it is keeping maximum bars and basically performing like my T720 with its antenna extended. And the battery is lasting longer because of that all digital technology. I have very slight problems. For one, usually with LG phones I can keep the phone unlocked to the point where I can access everything but when I am trying to dial out, that's when I must punch in my code. I thought I'd be getting this by switching back to LG, as I missed it with Motorola, but now they have taken that feature away and made it like every other cellphone. It either has to be 100% locked or 100% unlocked. And I hate that. I never know when I'm going to lose this thing or get it stolen. And its such an eye-catcher as it is. Also, with the T720, I could at least lock certain applications such as my GetItNow items and contacts (and no, that "Secret" crap doesn't count). Also more obvious things such as wanting to keep that keypad lit longer and wishing the outer display would stay on, but everybody else has already stated those problems so I won't bother. I will just finish with me saying once again that this is the most amazing cellular phone I've ever owned. It truly is worth every penny (20,000 to be exact since I got a one-year contract). |

You CAN change that in the options. It comes pre-set that way to maximize battery life. Welcome to the club. I am with you on the 6000...it is without a doubt the best phone I ever owned. wait till you have time to play with it and find out the tons of stuff, (including customization on a level Moto never heard of) you can do. I spent some $$ on that overpriced MIDIRingtones and downloaded some cool sound effects...so that when I get text or pic messages I hear this computer-type transmission sound, morse code, and a bunch of others that just make it seem that much more cool. PLUS!! New on Modtones today, the "Halloween" Ringtone. Yes, I know it has been around, but listen to this one. It sounds literally ripped from the movie (at least on the 6000). Enjoy. Send me a phone number if you need some pic message practice. Beware of Yello's FlargenNooben....

As well you should be....I am still more hyped about the 6000 even after owning it for a month than I was about the V60p before it came out. Theres just too much cool stuff you can do with it.

Man, you READ my mind, Delta. I just now found the Halloween ringtone today. I've been searching for over a year and never could get it on my T720, and now that I redownloaded Modtones I finally found the Halloween theme. I thought it'd be cheesy, but it's beautifully made. Like you said, it sounds as if it's right out of the movie. And will do, Ceno. And Delta, I can't find where to change the keypad's backlighting time. Also, I believe I could do more in terms of customization with the T720, such as what the softkeys apply to, etc. The most amazing thing I've found so far is the ability to change modes while the phone is closed. I happened to be at a stop sign, just decided to hold down that lone side-button and ended up putting the phone in "Manner Mode" then "Silence Mode." I hated the fact that I couldn't do that with the T720. |

I like my Halloween ringtone better than the one on GIN. Mine was just a midi that I e-mailed my phone. I'll send it to you guys if you like.

I think mine is MIDI. MIDI is what sounds exactly like real music/sounds, correct? Maybe, maybe not.

MIDI is the file type. Polyphonic means it sounds like real music. My version of the halloween ringer is different than what's in GIN.

Ceno, Can MIDI ringtones be emailed to the VX4400 too? I tried this with my T730 (R.I.P.) and it didn't work. How do I go about doing this, or is this one of those cases where I should be searching the LG forum? Thanks!

Push these buttons in the following order to change te backlight time: Menu, 9, 2, 2, 1, 1, Change the flashing dot pattern this way: Menu, 9, 2, 2, 2, 2 AND...If you want tot store more pictures, do this. Go to MENU, 7, 1. Delete everything under graphics, cuz it's all dumb anyway. Then, store yourself as "ME" in your phonebook. Under email, put your home email address, and your vzwpix.com email address. When you get a pic you want to save and not be in the regular gallery, just send a pix message to yourself at the vzwpix address. It wont actually come to you, but after it is sent you can open it up in the outbox. Select OPTIONS, then save PIX, rename it, and it will now be stored in your graphics section (MENU, 7). You can also save recrded sound clips that way, and they go to your ringeres. That is how I saved my friends' voices for their personal ringers on my phone. That should give you some stuff to play with.

I think the VX-6 has some new competition: LGmobilephones (scroll to very bottom) I have a question for all you insiders (Ceno) in the LG section. Didn't want to get AnthroMatt -too- angry. |

Corey, that new competition you speak of looks to be just a blue 4400 to me.

Not only blue, Ceno. The "B" in VX-4400B also stands for "Bullets." In future firmware updates, you can use the 4400B as a .22 caliber pistol.
